Yep We do get the bye this week. Hopefully the Storm lose the next 3!
True, but looks like we'll have to rely on other results and limp in to 5th.

Of course if we do make the semis we can make some damage, cos I think we have pretty much beaten everyone (?).

Ironically, if we do win Ball and Flegg in the same season in 23, it will be with basically the same core group of players.

when is the australian championships?
We usually have a Aus merit team by now by a few months I reckon.

They split the age groups this year. U15 Boys/U16 Girls will be held next month in Port Macquarie.

Thanks. I wonder why.
I feel like September is late - people are fading into the off season. Most of the kids would be beat up from the season.

We've now won SG Ball twice since we last won Harold Matts. This is a very interesting change for a club that until 2016 had won almost half of all Harold Matthews premierships (20 in 47 years) but less than a quarter of SG Ball titles. Clearly we are now focused in the right area, and it's not spending money developing kids for other clubs to poach into their systems as soon as they turn 18 (and can sign legally binding contracts).

Here's another indicator: Penrith are regarded as having the best junior development, winning 3 of the last 10 Flegg/NYC competitions, and 3 of the last 10 SG Ball titles. However they haven't won Harold Matts for 13 years. Because they know it's a waste of money.

There is a magic round (4 games) of quarter finals of Commonwelath Bank cup today.
Westfield v All Saints Maitland is probably of most interest to us.

Come on mate we need to trust the club in this. We are a development club after all they know what they are doing.

The ones moved might not actually be better than the ones who stayed in the team. I'm sure Sanders and Talagi are both better players than Josh Lynn, for example.
