He looked slow and well below average all around.
He was 19 ffs, he should be below average compared to genuine first graders. But he is fast enough. Very few modern hookers are quick. They are in the team for their work rate and decision making.

I think he looked slow compared to other DHs we’ve had and others in the NRL. He should have been in the lower grades. Same as his brother.

I liked Sangalang he’s a good footballer but if I’m honest those small hard working locks are dime a dozen these days. We already have Hopgood and I think Guymer is also suited in that role and will eventually end up there.

Keeping Coinakis is the bigger win. Doesn’t mean he will eventuate to anything but good Hookers are much harder to find. He obviously has a good junior pedigree, long term opportunity is there for him if he’s good enough.

He was in the lower grades. This is him in his first season of NSW Cup, while still eligible for SG Ball. He's quick enough.

Max Popo is the same age and started every game at lock for us last year in SG Ball. Sangalang played 4 out of the 10 games, all off the bench.

If we're talking about winning a signing battle I think we may have won with Jayden Carter and Cameron Bamblett, 2 spine players who are a year younger.

Even if Sangalang stayed i have no confidence our development club could have turned him into anything.

Our track record is piss poor and its going to take more then a change of coach and consistent results of juniors coming through and developing into genuine first-graders for us to be confident in the process.

How many in the last 15 years have played 50 FG games for Parramatta coming through the junior pathways to FG and develop into first graders.

The list below isn't a ringing endorsement of our junior development for the past 15 years.

List of FG games they have played for Parramatta

Junior Paulo - 184 FG games
Peni Terepo - 123 FG Games
Dylan Brown - 123 FG Games
Tepai Moeroa - 112 FG Games
Ryan Morgan - 84 FG Games
Will Penisini - 80 FG Games
Oregon Kaufusi - 71 FG Games
Mitchell Allgood - 70 FG Games
Ken Sio - 57 FG Games

Hes a good player mate. Works hard, good tackling and runs strong. Personally I rate Popo higher aswell. But Popo shot up from nowhere and overtook Sangalang. Thats why he’s left

I don't doubt he is a good player but like I said I have watched a few games of his now and not overly impressed..

I wasn't impressed with anyone that was pick for the Aussie school boys side this year actually
