I wonder if we sacrifice an SG Ball premiership by drafting the likes of Bamblett, Fletch, Koina, Talagi and Nunn straight to Flegg in round 1?
Would they benefit from playing Flegg compared to Ball? It seems that Ball is rated higher in the players development.
Lorenzo basically skipped it last year and jumped straight into CUP last year.
Lorenzo had a few games of Flegg before he was drafted in Cup.
tbh I'm expecting us to keep our Ball squad stacked until the end of their season but it does appear that our curtrent flegg squad without the Ball players are pretty weak.

Cant we bring them in halfway thrubseason when SG Ball is done?
It is worth considering because nobody gives the slightest damn about the SG Ball premiership (unless winning them helps junior recruiting, which I doubt). It is just a question of where are they most likely to develop asap?I wonder if we sacrifice an SG Ball premiership by drafting the likes of Bamblett, Fletch, Koina, Talagi and Nunn straight to Flegg in round 1?

SG Ball merkins usually move to Flegg (or reserve grade) after the Ball season finishes. When the SG Ball (under 19s) players move up, they usually become the best players in Flegg straight away. The best under 21s will already be in reserve grade or NRL.Would they benefit from playing Flegg compared to Ball? It seems that Ball is rated higher in the players development.

I reckon plenty of clubs give a shit. It’s usually the last chance a promising crop of youngsters gets to play together. The Roosters brought Rodwell back from reserve grade last year to play in the SG Ball finals. It is worth considering because nobody gives the slightest damn about the SG Ball premiership (unless winning them helps junior recruiting, which I doubt). Well they are at school with their school teammates every day, and would have been for several years. They aren’t competing with them for scarce contracts either. It makes sense they care more about that team.I suppose it’s better to say the care factor is pretty low rather than zero. I know for a fact the kids care more about their Commonwealth Bank Cup teams than the SG ball (the ones in good teams).
