PARRAMATTA EELS SUPPORTERS CLUB TRIP TO PARKES
23 December 2004

Tickets are available from Parramatta Leagues Club reception for the Eels Supporters Club trip to Parkes on Saturday 19 February, returning Sunday 20 February.

DAY 1 - Saturday 19/02/2005
Parramatta to Parkes
We board our coach at 9.00 am and leave the hubbub of the city travelling up through the cool tranquillity of the Blue Mountains to Lithgow. Morning tea will be in town, birthplace of Marjorie Jackson, the "Lithgow Flash", and radio and television personality John "Roy Slaven" Doyle. We travel via Bathurst, Australia's oldest inland settlement, and reach Orange in time for lunch (included) at the Ex Services Club. The afternoon tour takes us west through Manildra and we check into our overnight accommodation in Parkes at 3.00 pm with plenty of time to relax before the big match at 5.00pm at Pioneer Oval. Leaving the Oval at 9.00pm for the return to the Parkview Motor Inn.

DAY 2 - Sunday 20/02/2005
Parkes home to Sydney
We enjoy a hearty country breakfast before departing our motel and travelling the short distance north to the CSIRO Radio Telescope, now famous as "The Dish", where we enjoy the excellent audio visual presentation, "The Invisible Universe", and learn about the telescope and astronomy. We have morning tea in the shadows of the 18 storey high telescope before we travel cross country to Yeoval and "Gamboola", the wonderful Angola Rabbit Farm. A barbeque lunch (included) will be served in the Rabbit Trap Restaurant with some toe tapping live country entertainment in the woolshed. We are taken on an informative tour of the property and see a rabbit being shorn before we begin our homeward journey. We take a break in Bathurst before winding our way back down the mountains and reaching Sydney once more in the early evening.

I'm thinking of organising a booze bus for the Lismore trip if anyone is interested. Size of the bus will depend on who wants to come, and there will be shared driving responsibilities of some nature.

More info when I get off my hairy but well toned arse.

I think the the supporters club trip would be a great idea.

IF YOU LIKE PLAYING BINGO!!!!!!!

I reckon how Colonel is organisng our trip you'd be hard pressed to spend $150.00 with Bus Hire, Accom, food and Drinks and ground entry.

Not to mention the freedom to run a muck!!

It sounds like torture. Colonels way is much suited to the high amount of alcholics on the site. Not mentioning any names

I think HJ's impending Lismore voyage could well consume twice the amount of alcohol than the group going to Parkes! I'll put money on it. ;-)

Hmmm interesting to see if they get the numbers, personally the Colonel led trip sounds the better, even for the non drinking amongst the alcohs ;-)
