Parramatta Eels Trial Announcement

The Pirtek Parramatta Eels will make their first appearance for 2011 in Rotorua, New Zealand with their first trial against the Warriors, before taking on Wests Tigers and Penrith Panthers.
On February 12 the Eels will debut their new-look side at Rotorua International Stadium against the Warriors, now featuring former Eels Feleti Mateo and Krisnan Inu. Kick-off is 5.00pm.

It will be a practice match for the two Clubs’ first NRL game of 2011, which will take place in Auckland on Saturday March 12.
On February 19 the Parramatta Eels take on the Wests Tigers at Campbelltown Stadium in their first appearance in Sydney’s west for 2011.

Their final trial will be the annual Battle of the West Cup against the Penrith Panthers at CUA Stadium. It will be a huge day of rugby league featuring all fie grades – Harold Matthews, SG Ball, NSW Cup and Toyota Cup before NRL kick-off at 8.00pm.

Looks like Penrith is the only one I'll be able to make. I do enjoy the all 5 grades out there though.

anyone else think its weird we are flying all the way over to nz to play the warriors in a trial game then a month later we fly back there to play them again in round 1??

Yeah I thought that, but im assuming the trial game was being planned well before the the NRL got off their arse and made up the draw for the year. I have know of some trial games being planned a year in advance.

in my opinion trial should be played out of town to allow country members the opertunity to watch some of their heroes live.

Why not play a game close to Orange or bathurst, since they have been promoting a lot in this area. I recall hearing a game was to be played in orange but the playing surface was not up to standard, there must be a suitable ground out this way somewhere.

Personally, I think Parramatta should play all their home games at Nowra showground.

Sorry, what date is the Penrith trial? Have a completely overlooked that in the media release?
I'm out for C/Town as well, going to see Michael Buble that night :D :D :D
