Goodness we need to have members undertake triennial Idiot Testing to maintain their membership. In the end the target was short 15 to 20 votes. Some of the nuffys that spoke against are seriously damaged people.
Max should maybe consider the initial board selection be determined by a committee. Say 3 people eg Max and 2 respected others. I felt as if "The Factions" dont particularly want Max but are too stupid to realise their actions tonight have now determined that Max stays for the foreseeable future.
180 odd in attendance. Not good enough. That said Ive had sufficient of noisy, agenda driven fools for the time being.

Don't they get that the more the oppose the changes the longer the club stays in Govt. Administration?

They're just going to push the reforms through anyway, opposing them it a futile exercise
Surely this has given Max the ammo he needs to just force them through like he promised after the last time his reforms were voted down??

I couldn't attend last night. Very disappointed (but not surprised) to hear the motion didn't get up.

Max needs to get the new constitution through with the blessing of the NSW State Govt. I really think it should be the initial version, just to piss all the old factions off for good.

I understand the proposed constitution allows for postal/online voting? FFS it is 2018, how is this not already allowed?

Anyone know what kind of salary max would be on?
Donnelly gets paid by Ferrier Hodgson, so he gets paid the same being an administrator for Parra or for Toys r Us.

The club will need to pay the administrator fees whist they are in administration.

Thanks for the NO vote continually road blocking reform, the club will have this drain on the balance sheet for some time to come.

Hopefully the Minister has executive power under the act to make reforms to our constitution on our behalf.

I noticed on the other site that Phil Sims had a sit down with Max and Max indicated that:
  • At this point, he does not see the possibility of legislative change forcing through a constitution. It would require legislative changes that would be opposed by ClubsNSW. The clear preference is for members to accept a constitution developed after a long period of member consultation but still modelled on boardroom best practices
Doesn't seem to bode well for making changes

General Meeting Result

Posted on November 9, 2018

Dear Members,
An Extraordinary General Meeting of Parramatta Leagues Club was held on the 8th of November 2018 at 7pm at the Novotel Parramatta. The notice of business specified that the only agenda item was to vote on a new constitution.

Of the 208 who attended 136 voted in favour and 72 against.Whilst 65 percent of the Members in attendance supported the proposed constitution, this result was short of the required 75 percent needed for a special resolution to be approved.

I would like to extend my appreciation for all the Members who attended the meeting last night and I commend the way the majority of Members contributed to the debate.

I will now review the results of the meeting and consult with the relevant stakeholders in relation to the next steps in the process.

By order of the Administrator
