Parramatta Stadium

People must forget that Parra Stadium is still restricted to height restriction construction due to the original approval with the Friends of Parramatta Park, and which is enacted in law.
How on earth does this article plan to add 12000 seats combined between each end if they can't go higher, as that is what would be needed to get to 32 000. It just ain't possible.
The Wanderers plan of rail seating is the only way they could get close.

With Suncorp they just made the field lower. They were faced with the same problem before they redeveloped it.

Amend the legislation. It'd be a two page bill through parliament and easily done IMO

And that turned out well.

Ya reckon?

I'd like to think so, and we as a big city should push shit like this through parliament these days easily, considering how much park they have anyway, and have always had, but we're talking greenies here.

The Liberals are running the State and they don't give a shit about the Greenies. Just look at the destruction they're approving all over the country including the Great Barrier Reef.

Yep, I reckon.

If they can get Barsngaroo through without a sweat - parra stadium would be easily done. It'd not like they'd be handing public land over goof a casino

I'd hardly compare bipartisanship at Barangaroo to Parra Stadium. This is in the west mate. Get real.

The sports minister is now the local member who is a Penrith fan. That'll work in our favour.

Respectfully disagree. Time has moved on since the stadium was built - I don't think either major party would stand in the way if it came to the crunch.

They have legislation to get past, and then the Greenies.
Ya reckon it would be any easier now than 30 years ago? lol.

Yes.

There have already been significant changes to planning law for major development that can see heritage & environmental impacts overridden.

If the local council back it, if both major parties back it....easy done.

Do friends of Parramatta Park even exist?

The Penrith proposal is basically dead in the water because it involves the sale ,of wentworth park to a private developer, doesn't it?
