The petty minded f**kwit is at it again.
What a miserable prick, a cheap shot merchant and shithouse journalist to boot.
In Fridays edition of the Telecrap in his so called opinion column he takes great relish in belittling the Bears and any effort they make to save their club and have it reinstated to the NRL.
If I can quote "..It is preposterous to think Norths have anything to offer or that they have a justified cause to pursue in rugby league!"
As I have said the fight the Bears face is an extreme one, we don't ask for any quarter, especially from certain media elements, but this bloke obviousle bears a distinct grudge or dislike against Norths.
Every statement he makes in that bullshit article is erroneous and dreadfully biased toward Manly and his paymasters in the News Ltd.
My advice to Chesterton, steer clear of the North Sydney area, steer clear of the Central Coast area. Your articles over the years have been cobbled together and will be made available to people in the area and they can see for themselves what a worthless piece of shit you are

Beast, does Chesterton have a vested interest in Manly or is he a board member? His bias is disgusting, even for news ltd standards. I don't mind a little bias but it borders on slanderous and Chesterton is the master of the cheap shot. It must make him feel good to kick a team when they are down. How does he think Manly will be able to contribute more than Norths. If Manly somehow pull the wool over the NRL's eyes and are granted the licence I predict they will fall over within a couple of years. They are a stinking bunch of gutless turds.

Beast: There's no surprise in his latest outrages - he's the same guy who has never missed an opportunity to refer to us (Newtown) as "defunct".

I suppose you could really characterise Chesterton as the ultimate caricature of a sports journalist - you know, a pisshead who'll write something favourable about whoever's buying the drinks (or sausage rolls, stroke mags or whatever...).

I wouldn't worry too much about him - he's not going to affect the outcome, as nobody could possibly take him seriously. I know it's hard, but I recommend you channel your anger into helping to make sure the Bears make the most of the current opportunity to return as the team representing an ultra-fertile league-loving community on the Central Coast.

Go the Jets (and the Bears),
TDT-1

P.S. See ya at Northpower for round 22 of the 1st Div.

Sorry, I had t deleted that last post because it was one of those cut and pastes that went terribly wrong.

It was an article by Roy Masters in the SMH. The Norths board are contesting the legality of Manly winding up the JV.
Here... I'll try again:

Norths say Eagles weren't legal By Roy Masters The campaign for the Central Coast Bears to win a National Rugby League franchise yesterday moved to legal and political arenas, with action initiated to challenge the Northern Eagles board's decision to wind up the joint venture. Meanwhile, the Mayor of Gosford promised a "council of war" to agitate for a team based at NorthPower Stadium. The chief executive of North Sydney Leagues Club, Jim Henry, said he had received legal advice to the effect that the directors of the board of the Northern Eagles had not explored all possible survival strategies before surrendering the licence to Manly. Henry said: "I have advice the board decision was legally flawed. Under the Corporations Act, the joint-venture directors have to forget their ties to North Sydney and Manly and act in the best interests of the company. "Investigating all propositions is of paramount importance. That is the law. "Because there was only one proposition on the table - an offer from John Singleton - it's tough for Manly. They should take the view that since they can't put anything on the table, they have to accept the Singleton offer, regretfully. "Insofar as this leagues club has pumped millions of dollars into football, I will contact [North Sydney president] Mark Cannon and the representative of [administrators] Ferrier Hodgson and ask for a please explain. "I want to know why a cheque for $1.5million [from Singleton] was rejected." Henry indicated he would rescind legal action if the Northern Eagles board met again and reviewed the available proposals. "I will drop this legal course if the joint-venture board reconvenes and holds a meeting and observes corporation law," he said. The Mayor of Gosford, Chris Holstein, a member of the Northern Eagles board, said a four-pronged campaign had been framed, supported by Wyong Council, to lobby for a team based at NorthPower. He said: "We have formed a council of war to lobby the NSW and Federal governments, who each contributed $12million to build NorthPower; we will involve the sport itself on the Central Coast, both at junior and senior levels; we will keep the local community aware via the media; and, fourthly, we will approach the business community to enhance the Singleton proposal. "For the last two months, at three board meetings of the Northern Eagles, I have asked questions regarding the Ken Arthurson rescue package and been given no answers. "I am yet to hear what Manly's plans are for the stadium. They are presuming the stadium is available to them." One North Sydney director who is not on the joint-venture board said: "Who is to say South Sydney or Canterbury, or even rugby union might want to play there at times Manly assume the stadium is available to them? "It is the height of arrogance to assume this without informing stadium management." Northern Eagles chairman Ian Thomson yesterday accepted the position of chief executive of the Manly-run NRL club, AAP reports. Thomson said he had agreed to take over the day-to-day running of the club when the Northern Eagles' licence reverted to Manly at the end of the season. Thomson said he hoped Peter Sharp would remain as the Eagles' first-grade coach and said he would meet NRL officials next week to present Manly's business plan.

Beast. The second I read that article, I thought of you and the words "gutless son of a whore" came to my mind.

He's employed to write a comment, instead he pushes his own little barrow and honestly, he is the most gutless son of a whore I've ever seen in sports journalism.

Amazingly he was critiscising politicians in a nother section of the newspaper today- he's even lower than them- GET HIM OUT OF THE PAPER!

Cheers.

The Telegraph is not a paper. It's propaganda in the shape of a tabloid. You all have to learn the art of folding a broad sheet. It's a beter read any way.

Dawson Twins-
Yes we are channeling our energy in the right direction, it is just the sheer spite of some of these News Ltd lackeys that pisses me off.
One of our chaps was on 2UE or 2KY on the weekend talking about what steps the Bears will take to regain their position. They put that idiot Moffett on at the same time , he was asked if the Bears undertake to support themselves up the Coast, and take a huge reduction in NRL funding , up to 60% reduction would that have the NRL return the Bears as the 16th team, his reply was "no way."
We must get rid of the administrator first and then turn our affections on elements of the News/NRL.
I will be up at Northpower for Round 22, It will be my first footy match at Gosford, I will then leave as the first graders run on!See you there.
