Millward is the guy who needs to give himself an uppercut if we manage to lose Leilua and or Robson

It is not enough to identify talent

You need to create a pathway to FG for them

That means moving on players before they reach the bottom of the slippery dip of playing capacity

He should be reviewing his talent pool and determining how to best fast track the best juniors in conjunction with Miss Mary

Agree 100% but you forgot to add stop buying others that have hit the bottom of the slide or are at least building up speed on their way there.
Somehow fear lose Leilua and welcome Tony Williams.

Robson has be retained for next year.

Yes he has, but again the club needed to sign him on a longer contract.

A three year contract for a 17 year old kid as a minimum. Why ? Because if we don't someone will snap him up from under our noses. Sound like a familiar scenario ?

These kids are the best kids in our junior system..
Lealua seems to be a sticking point and some people just arn't loyal to clubs.. he may stay, he may go but i think the club has nailed the kids they want bar him.. and bird which i think everyone agrees is a big mistake..
Remember ian millward started this role at the begining of the year so i think he has done a great job.. whichever the leilua one goes.. just myopinion

Just remember we are a development club..... We develop players for every other club.....

Sad but true. Apparently there are over 70 ex St George-Illawarra juniors playing for other clubs. We aren't the only development club of course, Penrith, Tigers, Raiders, Newcastle all develop a lot of juniors. Be nice to get some tangible benefit out of it though, instead of just losing them to rival clubs.

Fair call but this is possibly the reason a "pathways director" was put into place? Identify the correct kids, resign as many of them as possible, bearing in mind the teir two cap only stretches so far

The club wanted Hastings too. We may have kept some players we wanted but the players we really wanted don't seem to want to stay. It's not like we are buying players other clubs really wanted to keep. Makes you wonder if there's a pattern. Makes you wonder why we invest so much in development in the first place.

We can't buy players we want on the open market, we can't keep the players we develop, so what exactly are we doing? We are left waiting to see what other clubs do before we make our own decisions. It's not good enough.

Young players on the South coast find it hard to identify with a club that barely plays in their home town.

The best ones get offered more to go elsewhere and usually have a better coaching staff to get them to their potential.

So many never make it past the under 20's stage as the Dragons have never taken the comp seriously and even after that the path way through the NSW Cup isn't the greatest as they only use a feeder club.

They expect players to play for next to nothing when other clubs have the finances to offer more cash.

Ian Millward,"Pathways Director",says it all really to have him in such an important position?
"Jobs for the boys" mentality is killing our club and shows how rotten this club is from the inside out.
Until key positions are filled with capable people and not friends or relations of the board etc we will not improve.
The club is stagnant.

Not sure I blame Millward in all this. He will have been given a budget and instructions and strict limitations to what he can and can't do. It's the board and Doust that continue to live in the past.
