How has this guy somehow got the reputation as a good, tough first grader?

All I ever see him do is miss tackles, make ineffective hit ups, throw stupid passes and give away penalties through grubbiness. Yet somehow the media talk him up like he is a fringe State of Origin player?

He's horrible but for some reason ex-players seem to love players who are "goers". Case in point Josh Reynolds. Hell even Kris Keating got a rep jersey because he was a " busy" player.

He is a fearless runner but I can see him losing it some time soon. He really annoyed the Donkey's players after that trip in Milford. Blair got 'white line 'fever tonight, shades of that Brookvale Oval incident with Glenn Stewart.

I like him because he's got a lot of his father in him. His father could be an annoying piece of work on the field, but wasn't no grub.

He wasn't this bad a couple of years ago. I don't know what has happened to Carter but he is a basket case right now.

It amazes me how he always seems to come up with a stupid penalty or dropped ball when Souths are gaining some momentum

Strikes me as a Josh Reynolds type. Tenacious and plays aggressive but if too fired up will make mistakes and silly brain explosions.

No rocket science here, he's a lot like his father, win the best way you can with the journeyman talent you've been given . . . toss in the fact that Maguire needs another Te'o and Carter has been reminded of it

He does have some talent though.

How the hell are Jason Clark and Dave Tyrell anywhere near first grade.

In 2014, both Clark and Tyrell were solid first graders who did a job for the team. Since then, they have both gone into decline and are both ineffectual. The only reason why they are getting picked at present is because we are lacking big bodies with the injuries that we have suffered.

I think he is one of our better forwards and offers far more than someone like Kyle Turner does. Granted there are a few weaknesses in his game in terms of his judgement both in attack and defence but he is an aggressive player and that goes along way in this game, especially in team that has been accused of being soft and apathetic in recent weeks. I admire his hard running style and his aggression and I also like the fact that when he makes an error, he tries to atone for it very quickly. In short, he has a good attitude and that is why he is worth persevering with. People need to remember that he is a young player so he is not the finished product. Given that he shows signs of wanting to improve, I think he has the potential to be a future representative player and a South Sydney captain.

The problems I have with Carter is that he stays down pretending to be hurt, looking for a penalty. Even worse he encourages other players to do the same thing.

He may play for my team, but I don't like him.

Sorta like the panthers wasn't no chance of a premiership this season?

And Paul Carter is shit.
