The fact that he associates with a "soap opera" with domestic violence is a reflection of his arrogance towards a very serious society issue as well as his own self-importance in regard to rugby league.Rugby League soap opera...
What on earth does Rugby League have to do with Paul Kent alledgedly choking a woman?
Just like a politician he is deflecting from the main problemRugby League soap opera...

What's the bet the only witness has a "change of heart" before December and wants to drop charges ?
Yes, but it makes it difficult depending on the rest of the evidence. Not sure if this is a thing I read or made up but isn't there a thing where the police prosecution can still charge the offender if they have enough evidence, despite the victim withdrawing?
The whole process is different here than in the US. You'll never hear the question "would you like to press charges?" in Australia because it's not the victim that decides that, it's the police. If they believe there are grounds for charges, they are the ones that determine if charges are filed and what those charges are. Therefore if a witness (including the victim) changes their story, the police (including police prosecutors) only need to determine if they still have a case, they are not obliged to withdraw charges. Not sure if this is a thing I read or made up but isn't there a thing where the police prosecution can still charge the offender if they have enough evidence, despite the victim withdrawing?

For instance, in this matter the police have taken out an AVO protecting Kent against the victim of the choke and assault charges. Meaning that the police are of the view that there was some conduct that occurred which made them believe that Kent requires protection also.
If the victim were not to attend court for what ever reason, the prosecution would have a difficult time disproving Kent's version of events, such as self defence.
You mean "other" journos right? Not entirely over, he can still make coffee for the journos in the newsroom.
While that might get him off the charges, it would kill his career…Yes, but it makes it difficult depending on the rest of the evidence.

Depends how chummy he is with higher ups at News Corp. They have no ethics unless it costs them money.Kent may well get off, that’s not uncommon for DV charges. He’s career is still f**ked though.
Haha Beetroot face is such a sook.Look like heals hit a nerve with Buzz during the week about the paul kent saga.
