The woman seems to have been nuts. Probably a drunkard. Kent was acting in defense of his property and his actions were reasonable in the circumstances of dealing with a crazy drunkard.

like most I was hoping he’d get found guilty, not surprised from the evidence that he got off though.
I get the pile on, because he is a complete Kent - but ultimately, the Court has found him not guilty, which means he has to be presumed innocent.

Just because we don’t like someone, for me, shouldn’t mean that we hope they end up in the clink, particular for something they haven’t done (if indeed he didn’t do it).

What I do agree with, is he deserved all the grief pre-trial, as that’s what he does to players (when it suits), but now he’s been found not guilty, he has to be treat as innocent (though I also agree his ‘mates’ should sting him in the ribs with a sly did every now and then - something like ‘they really choked there didn’t they Kenty’ whenever a teams loses after being in front)

If only he gave the same leeway to those he makes a living reporting on

Absolutely agree - that being said, I don’t think he has hammered people after being cleared in Court though, but he certainly sticks the boot in pre-trial usually.

Anyway, I’d rather not lower my standards to his though - he’s innocent until proven guilty, and he’s been found not guilty, so it should end there. Will definitely be interesting to see if he makes his way back onto NRL360, and even more interesting to see if the journos are a little less harsh in future when players are facing charges. To be fair, I think they’ve calmed down a bit over the last couple of years (probably since the JDB case and a couple of cases where the Police have done the wrong thing). If you look at the Junior Amone case, it’s not really been reported that much, also Latrell and Wighton, didn’t really get the airtime it once would have done.

You seem to be carrying a fair bit of water for him mate.

I don't think a journo who has had a national TV and print platform to beam his opinions, needs such a passionate defence against 5 or 6 anonymous online posters on a tinpot website.

Not in the slightest - I think he’s a complete shithouse, and him and his ‘mates’ have been a stain on the game. Him, Hooper, Buzz are all huge hypocrites who’ve made a living out of blowing up ‘stories’ where a player has farted in the wrong direction, yet they’ve all been far from ‘clean living’, and have some ‘friends’ in dark places (Eddie Hayson anyone) who I am sure have helped them profit from the game in areas other than their ‘journalism’…
That being said, I’m also firmly of the belief in the rule of law - if there isn’t enough evidence to convict, it’s not right to keep punishing someone anyway. Everyone has the right to a presumption of innocence until proven guilty, no matter how much of a Kent they are! And for the avoidance of doubt, I think Paul Kent is the Kentiest of Kents…. Hooper is an even Kentier Kent!

Yeah that'll work. Re-traumatise actual victims repeatedly and in the media too boot, so that people in this position never report the crime
Versus an anonymous accusation against an innocent man that totally obliterates his reputation, his career and ability to work, his relationships with loved ones and strangers alike, not to mention the possibly irreparable damage to his mental well-being.

If you are going to accuse anyone of anything be prepared to put your name to it.

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

What's rule of law got to do with some people posting about him on this forum though?

Surely you are not advocating people should not shit post about him because of a legal decision?

Shit post away…. He deserves that!

Only bit I don’t agree with is people essentially saying they wish he’d gone to jail, or that just because he was found ‘not guilty’ doesn’t mean he’s innocent…. He should be treat as innocent on this case, but treat as a complete Kent anyway
