Paul Stanley lead singer of that 70's and 80's rock band "KISS" is heading down under for a solo tour.

I for one am not real familiar with his solo work ....I did see the cover of his album when I was in primary school. Some kids older brother had it.

Oh well I guess this is one for the die hards.

2WS are advertising it so it looks like being an absolute corker!:D

I wouldn't mind seeing him - one of the great voices.

Paul Stanley played guitar in Kiss. Gene Simmons ... he of the 9-inch tongue... was the singer.

There are some HUGE reasons why Kiss was so phenomenal in their time. Gene Simmons was the reason.

That is probably the least accurate post i've ever come across OVP;-)

Paul was the voice of KISS, Gene was his side kick.

Paul sung a majority of the songs because

a) Gene didn't have no where near the range Paul had
b) couldn't sing particular songs because of his limited rang
c) his voice didn't have the appeal of pauls

All Gene brought was his artciulate mind, accounting skills, tongue, and fake blood.

Paul was the biggest part of KISS, but wasn't as controversial as Gene.

Not only was Paul Rythym guitarist in KISS but he sang a vast majority of there hits.

for example:

-I was made for loving you
- Sure know something
- Shandi
- Detroit Rock City
- I stole your love
- Lick it up
- Tears are falling
- Who wants to be lonely
- Love gun
- Pyscho circus

He also co sang other hits including:

- God gave Rock n' Roll to you
- Shout it out loud

Also, in 2001 at the Superdome, still regarded as my favourite concert of all time Paul was amazing, his voice was just sensational, and looked reasonably buffed aswell.....not that i'm gay.......just thought id add that part aswell to suit my argument:?

Gene was the singer????
Gene had one arsecheek out of the drummers stool by being on bass.

Big Ronny is correctamundo.
He might have time machine taste but his big hair stats are pretty spot on...well done Ron.
..although I do sense a few supressed Stanley Fantasy's in your post.

FTR My favourite KISS song was sung by ACE "Talk to me".
Gene did sing one of their best in "Rock n Roll all night".

I must admit when Kiss came out here in 1980 ( I think) it was pretty huge.
I was only a little kid at school but the media saturation was insane.
One of my mates dads got to meet them on a plane.

See 80's can be cool, now run along and i'll put this VH 1 cassette in your walkman for you to listen happily to whilst walking home. Then after this i've arranged for some beddy bye tunes from Ratt, Dokken, Whitesnake, WASP just so you can fall asleep happily and not think of how bad todays music has become;-)

Sweet dreams lol

You gotta admit God gave Rock n' Roll to you is like an anthem of rock.

Anyone ever see the interview with Norman Gunston and KISS in the 80 tour?

From what i heard he made reference to Ace's constant sniffing and it got that bad that after the interview they waited for him to come out to have a go at him lol

Whats funnier is on the 80 tour, they had a sheduled interview with molly meldrum, who was running late and had to have a police escort to the hotel room. With all the sirens going on, kiss panicked and flushed their gear

Needless to say, meldrum was never granted an interview again

Um

I thought KISS especially Gene and Paul were quite anti drugs.

Norman Gunston came out of retirement for the GnR press conference and asked if they named the band after him "Gunston Roses" .
They thought he was so funny they offered him the chance to introduce the band at Eastern Creek .
He turned it down.

I think you would find that gene would be the cleanest of the lot.
Ace and Peter were animals back then, although it must be noted that in 1980, kiss toured australia with Eric Carr behind the drum kit, him I wouldnt know about.

Proff is in the pudding i guess, with Gene and Paul not looking too bad for their age, whilst one look at ace and Peter and you wonder what truck had just run over them.

100% correct, totally slipped my mind Eric was the drummer on that tour, terrible what happened to him as for a little bloke he could play the drums bloody well.

Stanley on his own.... MEH

but Kiss as a group one of the best ever live acts. I agree with RON 2001 Superdome was one of the best concerts I have been to.
