Was anyone else impressed with Warrington's Paul Wood in the Leeds game ?
He was a GB squad member in 2003 but picked up a shoulder injury and has only really just got back to his best. A possible tri nations bolter ?

18yo prop Andy Bracek looked one for the future too.

Paul Wood in the last couple of games is starting to show the type of form he displayed at the back end of 2002 and during 2003. He had a few injuries nad personal issues that really affected his form last year, and that seemed to carry through this season. I'd keep him out of the Tri-Nations set up for his own good again, maybe play in the England squad if they do a euro-nations again. He seems to have got a bit more pace into his running when taking it in again, and not trying the daft step that slowed him down when hitting the line.

I think we were all surprised by Andy Bracek's performance against the Rhino's. He is one with raw talent, just a bit too young to be playing every week in the pack. He started the season playing a lot of first grade, but it became a but too much, so he dropped down into the u18's & u21's to continue his development. We picked him up from St Helens, after he had a few issues with their former coach. I think we paid £22k for him.

Wood's a pretty solid player, he's done it tough over the last 18 months though and I hope his recent performances mark the start of a return to his previous form - he should have represented GB in 2003 IMO.

Bracek is going to go a long way in the game. His only issue at Saints is that he wanted a professional contract for 2005 and Saints preferred to give one to James Graham (a decision that has been fully vindicated may I add). He's a real talent and with another year of development under his belt I think he'll be a regular in the Wire side for 2007.

I have only seen Paul Wood a few times but must say have been really impressed by him and from those glimpes I have seen of him would have to say I think he would do well in the GB team. His stature reminds me of Stuart Fielden.
