The more I see of this bloke the more I like.I cant believe how good this blokes hands are,he can pass/dummy etc.And great to see him sprint 50 odd metres to back up a break.

Dont forget that this feller has barely played in the last year,he would have to be a fair way of full fitness, but we are starting to see how good this bloke is.

Cheers.

Why Corey always fancied himself in the number 6 .
Imagine that, Payten at 7 and Pearson at 6 .
Theyd have a long way to run around them lol

What happened to the days of the really ugly men - like Gav Miller - Lee Crooks - Mick Neil (without his falsies) - & Dallas Donnelly???

It has to be noted that coming out of Temora Payten was the absolute star of junior football in the Riverina region - playing often above his age group!

His problems in the past have come down to fitness and injury - that have conspired to prevent him from reaching what was unlimited potential!

He is still young and his attitude is better than as a youngster in Canberra when he expected things to fall his way too easily - and took shortcuts at training that impacted on his failing fitness!

The year under the strict Roosters regime has done him the world of good - and he has done remarkably well to regain on-field fitness in just a few weeks after such a long lay-off!!

As for offloads - he certainly does have that ability - but unlike most modern props he also has the ability to draw defence and pass before the line (like Steve Roach and Bob O'Reilly)!

This is a rare skill in the modern game and was highlighted with his quick hands that put Halatau into a hole in the 2nd half against Parra - with Dene shovelling the ball out to Fitzy who went on a 30 metre dash!!

Plus his stats of 124 metres (plus one offload) and 20 tackles off the bench is just what the doctor ordered!!
