That was the biggest joke of the game for sure. Kidley still got to the ball even tho Fittler took him out which means if he hadnt taken him out he would have got there for sure.
Then 3 minutes later Quinn was called offside even though the replay didnt clearly show anything.

As BK said tho....no excuses....it was there for us....we didnt take it. Bad luck guys and cya next year.

I was at the game and saw the incident and really thought it should have been a penalty try. Fittler fully impeded Kurt Gidley. If Fittler wasn't there, Kurt would have scored the try.

Does anyone know why it wasn't ruled a penalty try??

I heard it was because they didn't want to sin bin Fittler, which sounds really stupid to me. If it was Walker he'd have been gone, LOL.

If that wasn't a penalty try, then none of them are. There is no doubt Kidley would've scored if not interfered with by Fittler, they awarded a penalty for it, so I'd love to hear from the wise men in the box, what they considered was going to happen to prevent him scoring, if Fittler hadn't have held him back?

There certainly is inconsistency in the rules in this area. Where a try is being scored and it is inconclusive, the benefit of the doubt goes to the attacking team and try is allowed. Where it is a penalty try, it has to be conclusively certain that a try would have been scored. There are 2 sets of standards which should not be in our game and I believe the NRL needs to look closely at this to ensure the standards are the same. ie either the benefit of the doubt goes to the attacking team in both circumstances or a try has to be conclusively scored in both.

Gidley should have been awarded that pentalty try.... why give them the penatly, but not a penalty try? I was watching it with a Rooster's supporter and even he said that we should have been awarded it.
