The machine is running out of puff. Back to back premierships are extraordinarily rare. Since 1990 and not counting superleague it has only happened once. The Broncos never did it (again, not counting super league), the Storm never did it even with their star studded team and the magic cap. The grind is brutal. And maintaining the hunger after you have won it when every single team lifts to face the reigning premiers is almost impossible.

That is why it has happened just once in a generation and that is why it is a pretty safe bet to say Penrith probably won't win it this year.
You were dropped on your head as a child, weren't you?

The panthers are still as big of a favourite to win this year as I think any team has been since i've been following league.

They haven't even moved on Sportsbet. Even money.
Kind of ridiculous.

Our halves will go into the finals having not played a game in 6/7 weeks.

It will have them feeling refreshed. But the rest of the regular season we will lose a ton of momentum with Falls and SOS leading them around.

Shouldn't effect the ladder. But the form and on field confidence will cop a hit

I feel Luai will play at least 1 game beforehand

Sean O’Sullivan and Kurt Falls are honestly going to have to play out of their skins in the next five rounds, or we risk not only losing the Minor Premiership, but also slipping to 6th and we’ve got a tough run home.

Mate you’re three wins ahead of second place. You might lose the minor premiership (and that is difficult to see) but you won’t drop to six
