Scariest mofo in the comp gets some new footwear.

Well deserved for an absolute f**king beast.

He's won 88 from 102 NRL and international games since the start of 2020.
Has he done enough to become a Panthers co-captain? He's the captain of the official best rugby league team in the world, and now a golden boot winner. Move over Yeo and Nate. There should be 3 captains.

Moses was tank commander of the year in Mechanized Warfare Monthly a few years back.

Won the poll unanimously.

I actually think it is an interesting point (and I know he was trying to troll, but he seems to have stumbled onto an insightful question; even a stopped watch is right twice a day).

Would Penrith have been successful without COVID? I actually think the rule changes have helped us massively (not sure if you put that down to COVID or not), but it has ensured that the fittest, most skilled team has an advantage like never before; that is reason why we can have been so consistently excellent before.

Previously teams could do the rugby league equivalent of ‘park the bus’ by lying in the ruck, spoiling, and that brought the best teams back to the comp; there is now less of that.

The best example is the GF, where the coaching allowed both teams to lie in the ruck; this nullified our supremacy in the first half and led to the game effectively ending up a toss of the coin; lucky we had the most clutch player in the game and he loaded the dice in our favour (to mix up my gambling metaphors…)
Yeah I don't think the threepeat had anything to do with covid. Rule changes, sure, which probably also impacted the other big factor (outside Penrith just being good of course) - the two juggernaut clubs prior to Penrith have been on the decline. Roosters since 2020, Storm probably since 2022.

A lot of player turnover too. Gave us some dogshit teams over that period

Did they win the GF on their own though. Cleary is one tough bugger. He will go down as one of the greatest when he retires. He has done it all at a very young age.
he hasn't won the wcc - but then neither have Penrith - heading for their 5th defeat in a row to English sides after mr greedys departure?

Hahaha an exhibition game that has become another start of the pre season warm up...
Seriously if Penrith had to play the winner of the SL it should be done within a month after the GFs not the following year, the roster changes for both teams, its basically a new season, early this year we lost by a point in overtime, we don't have Api or Kiks,
and more importantly haven't adjust for their losses due to it being a new season.. sounds like excuses yes, but its true, and a dumb game to be pround of considering we send all our retireees to that comp

Biggest factor is panthers had a shorter pre-season due to the World Cup. With most of the side featuring in it.

They had no trials at all and were completely underdone. Their form was patchy for the opening couple months trying to get match fitness and new combinations going through the season.

Even Tigers and Eels were able to beat them.
