Penrith's draw this year...

I'm not trying to say injuries are worth a definitive amount of points per player. You're missing my point.

Obviously Carney was worth 6.7 points, but Tupou was only 3.1 points. Jonno Wright missing was actually worth - 4.2 points, so the Dragons were a bit unlucky there that he wasn't playing, so maybe the draw wasn't rigged in their favour...

Tne of our so called easy games we lost. Sharks last win was against the Panthers. With a try at the death disallowed that would have won us the game, and another potential try not even sent upstairs. If there was anything close to match fixing going on, the guys who f**ked up Panthers draw here would be sacked. We also faced a much closer to full strength Sharks team then most other sides have faced.

The Knights were tipped to be a top 4 side.. but for whatever reason have been terrible. Kurt Gidley usually has godlike performances against us, and these are one of the worst teams for the Panthers to face.

The Eels were tipped to be wooden spooners again, but have so far played like a top 4 team and facing them twice with the attack they have certainly isn't an advantage to any team.

We played the Storm in Melbourne, Naiqama was racing away for his hat trick which would have ended up being enough for the win only for it to be called back for a forward pass. Replay shows the ball clearly going backwards. We also had a chance to win the game on the siren but Wallace missed the kick. We also had to play them with the big 3 playing, meanwhile the Sea Eagles in round 1 played them without Cronk, and all the teams facing them around the Origin period are getting easy wins against them with the big 3 out through origin and/or injury.

We played the Bulldogs as they were hitting form and scraped away with a 2 point win, before they went on to hold the longest winning streak we will likely see all of this season.

Titans were also leading the competition when we first faced them, and last night we had to face them when they had gotten back a number of injured and suspended players.

You could argue Panthers have been unlucky to face stronger versions of these teams then other clubs have faced. You can only play what is infront of you, and you can't expect any game to be an easy win or you will have already lost it. I don't expect any easy win over the Dragons next week, even though it really should be.

Also this doesn't take into account that Panthers have been held back by injuries and with so many new faces in the team, has held back the time it has taken the likes of Moylan, Soward and Wallace to develop a combination in the spine. Aswell as having wasted the opening 8 rounds with Kingston hogging the hooking role, and are only just finally getting to see Segeyaro fit into our full strength spine.

anyone who had the Sharks in their top 8 needs re-think which sport they follow

I posted on another thread how fortunate they've been with the draw, I got nothing against Penrith or their fans, I just think to be boasting about being top of the ladder when you've beaten the Titans, Raiders & Knights twice is a bit extreme

given they've won 8 games, 6 of them have been against bottom 4 contenders, they beat the Eels without Hayne which is basically a free win, their other win was against the Bulldogs which may sound impressive but given it happened in Round 3 before they hit their straps it's nothing to be writing home about

Actually the more you think about it, there is matching fixing going on. Isaah Yeo has played 5 games (Round 1, and the last 4 rounds) and we have won them all. He has a 100% win rate in first grade, and it's just cheating to pick a player who can't lose games.

With him we have won 5/5. Without him we have won 3/7. Blatant cheating.

Yep, I agree Blazza. We should give those points back. Any of our tries from kicks should be disallowed & we should start each game -10 because Wallace & Soward are our halves. That should put us back in our place.

The amusing thing is not too many of our own fans think we will go all the way. The sandy vaginas from supporters of other clubs that are "more deserving" is nearly as good as a premiership anyway. Lol.

Knights were tipped to be a top 8 side, many even tipping them for the top 4. After the way they finished off the 2013 competition, not many teams would have wanted to face them in Round 1.
Titans were leading the competition when we first faced them aswell. They were in very good form, and neither time we have faced them has it been a depleted shitty side that was an easy win.

It should have been obvious that the Raiders would be shit having played under Ricky Stuart, but even then the Raiders have generally been one of the teams Panthers struggle against. Ricky Stuart has just turned them to be shitty enough it doesn't matter.

I suppose at the end of the season, we should go and remove all the wins against teams outside of the top 8. It couldn't possibly be those teams having to face the Panthers twice that has them looking worse either... you throw two wins on each of those teams that we played twice and suddenly they don't look anywhere near as shit.

Titans would be equal first had they won both games against Panthers.
Raiders would be equal 11th with Warriors, Dragons and Cowboys.
Knights would be on 10 points and still sitting bottom 4.
Eels would be sitting on 18 points and equal first had they beaten us in the second encounter.

Serously. You want to see a fixed draw... the Broncos having 7 or more days between every match except one for the opening 18 rounds. That's a ridiculous leg up on the competition and gives them a headstart on nearly every single game.

Rounds 11, 12 and 13 they have 8 days from their last game, then a bye before going back to a Saturday night game in Round 15. 6 day turnaround for Round 16 against the Sharks, then a 10 day turnaround before having to face the competition leading Penrith Panthers.

They only have to play the Panthers, Roosters and Eels once. They get to play Dragons, Titans and Knights twice. Deadset I wold trade Panthers draw for the Broncos draw in a heartbeat.

Only having 3 or 4 games at most with less then a week turnaround in the season would make it so much easier to get up for each game. Especially when nearly all of them are Friday night games. Best night for footy IMO.

Any argument can be twisted.

I could say the Panthers beat a side who were one off the GF 6 months earlier (Knights) almost beat Melbourne in Melbourne, toppled the Dogs and Titans x2 who have/had been in top spot and won in Canberra.

Are the Panthers the best side in the comp? Course they aren't. But they have a decent side under a very, very good coach and they're a chance at the top four if they're good enough.

I can't remember looking at a side in the eight at season's end and thinking gee they played shit footy, lucky the draw kissed them on the c**k.

It's great to see! We usually are liked by everyone because we are normally hopeless.

The hate means some people are starting to envy us.

Hit the nail on the head. Nobody cares for the Panthers because they're usually shit. All of a sudden they are leading the comp and we all want to bitch slap Jamie Soward's head.

Luke Walsh would never have had a TA on his entire career if that was the case.

Have the Panthers had a good draw so far? Probably. But until the season is over, when you get through the entire draw, there is no point even discussing it. You could probably pick one or two of the top 4 each year that appear to have a "soft" draw. Unless team play home and away against every team, there will always be the possibility of this kind of thing happening.

Besides, no matter who you play, you still have to aim up and win.

To be fair, wouldn't matter where they were on the table, Soward will always be a prime candidate for a couple of bitch slaps to his head.

They've had a good draw and have probably only looked half decent on and off. No one else has been necessarily better though.
