Interested in what you guys thoughts are regarding the game.

Some random thoughts from me are:-

  • Tedesco to me looked pretty good. That injury was cruel.
  • Humble looked fantastic and can step right into fullback or the halves.
  • Moltzen was poor.
  • Benji was all over the shop. Farah was in the same boat with less big plays.
  • Ellis is a superstar. He kept us in that game with his defence and he still made metres.
  • Blair was pretty ordinary and on that performance he is miles away from Ellis.
  • Ryan is a gun. He goes hard all day and his performance on the wing has improved out of sight. That try he scored was one that very few wingers could create.
  • Ayshford was so bad it wasn't funny.
  • Our forward pack is pretty darn good. Galoway can make metres. Woods is an Australian rep in the making. Groat looked like he can become a really good player but he isn't there yet. Fulton and Bell were fantastic.

If that's what we're going to get from Humble and Bell they will be great buys. Blair is much better than he was today.

Humble is a specialist five-eight - but he can fill in at fullback alright. Hope he stays there all year for you guys. He`s a great goal-kicker too.

Will Humble start next week now tedesco is gone?
Nice opportunity opened up for him here and looks good.

Win is a win no matter how scrappy it was, just too bad about tedesco.

Moltzen is a terrible halfback.

He looked bad out there didn't he. I think as a running fullback he was really starting to look good last year.

Still previously when he was at 7 he looked like a game breaker.

I suppose we need to give him a break for a certain time period. And although he was bad Ayshford was much worse.

And that's what he has produced for Melbourne over the years so I'm yet to work out why the wrap on him is so great? You look at him and then a bloke like Bakuya, look at their bank balances and ask what the f**k is going on.

I agree but I am hoping I'm wrong. You look at Ellis compared to Blair and the difference is huge. Paying big money for quality players like Benji is fine but Blair could be a club killer if he performs like that for the next 3 years.

Imagine Ellis being on less than Blair. Its unbelievable.

I wouldn't be writing Blair off after one game. He was average today but at his best he is a quality player and one of the best back rowers in the game.

Have to agree with all that mate

Yeah Groat was great, definitely his best game do far and he was excellent in defense too. Both he and Woods played really well and matched it with the Sharks pack.

On the basis of that performance, it was easy to see why we kept Groat over Fifita, who did nothing today but make sideways metres.

Not writing him off just stating that what I saw today was only slightly below what he has produced for Melbourne for the majority of his time there. I thought he did what he normally does. I just can't understand the wrap on him, even when at Melbourne. Stay tuned for massive improvement I guess as he will have to do some special stuff to justify his price tag and shedding of former Tigers players.

Blair was average last year for the Storm. Before that IMO he was one of the premier back rowers in the game.

As for shedding players, I saw nothing today from anyone we let go that makes me regret the clubs decision. I like Gibbs, he is a great defensive player but was easily contained in attack, and Fifita made more metres sideways than he did going forwards. I thought Blair, even though he was average, played better than both Gibbs and Fifita.

To add to that, Groat was far better than Fifita too. Fifita may end up a good player, but could easily end up as another wasted talent. He doesn't do the tough yards and wants to run sideways too much.

glad we won but holy sh!t are the Tigers are getting a lot of crapped piled on them in the NRL forum.

Strange how quickly the opinion from other team fans change. When we were a fun team but struggling for wins the Tigers were loved but now the Tigers are one of the more consistent teams for the past few years and hated.

The West Tigers look great on paper but they rarely live up to the hype. Occasionally they will click but it's more of the same, hopelessly inconsistent.
