Quote from todays Sunday Mail......
"Gow said he is saddened by the latest drama, describing the club's handling of the Anderson affair as very poor. He would not rule out coming back to the club in an official capacity..........I get a lot of calls he said"
What do you people think?

Love to see him challenge. Looks like the currnet board have some good financial backing according to Frenzy though.

You read it wrong McShark or maybe I didn't write it clearly. The backing I hinted at is for a challenge not for the current board.

Gow can't hold a place on the board for 5 years as a result of the court proceedings.

So there is another group who have good financial backing and are going to make a challenge. Well, I would have to know who they are, but anyone seems better than the current mob.

Reading between the lines of this article gow seems to be saying in the short term. The quote was after an item regarding the payout to gow from the sharks

Frenz, what's the approximate start date of that ban? It's not backdated or anything, is it? I guess what I'm asking is, does he have five full years from now, or is it now, say, 3.5 or something?

As for a challenge - Well, he doesn't have to run for the board himself, does he? Nothing to stop him providing the financial backing for someone else to run. Whether or not he would want that involvement disclosed is another thing.

Gow's ban isn't 5 years from now but holds for at least another 2 I think.

Not sure on that Frenzy. I read it in the sports section of the mail today.
You could look it up. I am away from home at the moment otherwise I would scan and save it,sorry. If you find it I would be interested in what you read into it

I could be wrong on this but I think Gow has a lot of support.I never thought Cronulla would go under with him in charge. I judge the board on results and things appear static to me.
Obviously there are a heap of issues we are not privvy to so for all I know they are doing an outstanding job. The media dont portray it as such so I guess only time will tell.
Maybe we need to know more about whats going on but for one reason(legal maybe)or another we dont know.

The current board are the most incompetenet in history and are endangering the future survival of the club. The sooner Gow is back the better.

The one thing that is an imperative is that the current board must go. We need someone at the helm who has a substantial business background and a track record of success. I'd certainly welcome back Gow, not just for his business acumen, but for those daughters of his as well. The occasional visit by Elle and/or Mimi sure wouldn't do any harm to business.

Gow gave his undertaking in June 2002. So you won't see him back until mid-2007 at least.

Anyway, while he is clearly a better businessman than those on the current board, he is hardly a better model of corporate governance than they are, given the court's findings against him.

Hey don't get me wrong - I'll be delighted to see this board go - they are just as bad as Gow from a corporate governance point of view, only without the least bit of business acumen or entrepreneurial flair to redeem themselves with.

But Gow, whatever he says to journos, won't be back for a long time to come. So we'll have to look elsewhere for our saviour.
