Profit of 65 million including deprecation of 8 million and cash reserves of 230 million

They don’t report a revenue figure so it probably wasn’t good

Average afl wages for players are just over 500k up around ten percent

Our results are due around the 20th and hopefully will include an update as to ratings figures since Fox don’t release pay tv numbers anymore

The article clearly states revenue was up $164m.

You are kind of making my argument for me regarding spineless leadership and favouritism.

Good to know we have a few fans of the NRL potentially artificially manipulating the comp to suit decades old expansion teams........something we have all derided the AFL over for years and years.
Who said anything about rigging the competition to help the Storm succeed? They manage to succeed despite the NRL never doing them any favours.

Really? The NRL never did them any favours eh?! Billy Slater being cleared to play by its judiciary for the 2018 NRL Grand Final doesn't ring a bell?
Slater getting booed all day along with Melbourne getting creamed and Mitchell terrorising Chambers was the chefs kiss to his career. Incredibly nostalgic about that day.
*2018 Wally Lewis Medal winner Billy Slater at that
To be fair even Billy looked embarrassed receiving that. Even my maroons mates all thought it was a complete joke.

PVL is correct in his statement. NRL wants to keep its stars and Lomax has made himself look like a twit and PVL can come in a look like a good compassionate leader which he is.
The issue is its no good that he is trying to go to one of the grand final teams. Parra is doing the right thing to fight Melbourne tooth and nail. A stand needs to be taken again the likes of Storm and the Rooster. If he wanted to go somewhere and help out a struggling team like Newcastle it would be different.
Thanks Gus

With the new tv deal and sponsorship growth the nrl will be touching 1.1 billion revenue and it doesn’t have to fund teams of 50 players, or the basket case that are the giants suns and lions

Once the state govt funding for Tasmania stops they will just make it worse

And anywhere other than Perth for team 20 will be another basket case

They had billions (over 3 billion) in extra revenue v league over the past 20 years and have little to show for it now
