Peterson's bad press

I cannot fathom why people are bagging Mat Peterson this morning. What id he do wrong? He got a points deision ofer Fa'afili, he scored a great try from absolutely nothing (sadly disallowed) and gave us a chance with another pearler that only a gymnast could have bettered. He also got no service from his golden boy centre, and never got a shot at a kick because the halves were unable to give him decent kicks.

I think Peterson bashing -a once valid sport - is now a thing of habit. he has been standing tall for Parra mid year. Since the pizza turnaround, Peterson has not proven full of hot air like Wagon, Vella and co. He's still busting his nuts on the wing - and had more passion and effort in his game than Wagon, Vella and the other so called 'experienced' players combined.

I gave Sideshow my MOM for his efforts. Did I miss something????

How can I break it to u softly Misty....THE GUY IS f**kING SHITHOUSE  nahh only joking he tries really hard but In my opinion is not of 1st grade standard. But before u get all heated on me there are many more shit players such as Brians step sons Wagon and Burtcrap that I would choose Peterson in front of.

Im not content with Average players such Burt Wagon Peterson Hopkins Witt Thormann etc being in our team. They all need to go as they have no talent.

Yeah I thought of all the things to bag out from last nights game , I was surprised they picked Peterson. All it takes is one guy to say it and he will gather about 10 followers.

Peterson tried hard all night, looked like the only eel who was going to score, would help if Burt could defend abit better.

Misty, i have never ever said peterson was heartless or lacks desire, this is where he is so strong, i wish we had other's in our side with his commitment.

However, apart from finishing of some movements like what most wingers should do.....he's hardly a threat in attack & defense, he's a powder puff, if i was marking him i'd be very confident, and i haven't seen him dominate his opposing man anytime this year.

Maybe he did get a points decision on this one occasion against fa'afili.

He run's out of the line, can come up with a good tackle....but he can also make some dead set shockers.

My last point, if Peterson was on the open market he would recieve next to know interest what so ever, and if he did don't expect it to be big round figure.

I'm not doubting that, he was one of very few with commitment last night, but to win a Premiership we need alot better player then Peterson on the wings.

When does he run up out of the line?

I think you are thinking of our number 4 - that's right, the player who misses 1/3 of the tackles that he attempts!!!
Is it just me, or does anyone else think that the player who has the most 'try conceeded' incidents in the NRL should no longer play in the centers for us (to decode, I'm talking about Burt....)

Peterson on the other hand, he tries - he makes mistakes because he's trying, but at least he tries! He'll never play SofO, but I think he's certainly not the worst player in our squad - in fact, out of our three-quarter line I would say that it's a line ball between him and Langi as to who is the better!

If our halves could lob a couple of decent kicks towards his side every game I reckon he's certainly capable of scoring a try!

I agree with Burt.

I feel sorry for him as i don't think he wan'ts to play in the centres aswell, Burt was great for us at fullback earlier this year......but due to the great form of McKinnon had to be moved.

Burt was worse than Petersen and as long as he continues playing centre he will be. Burt's always out of position in defense. He just can't play centre. He's got the speed to be a good finisher out wide on the wing but that's about it.

Ron: Looking at GRaham tho it would appear he can't even finish off a move at least Petersen can manage that much.

As I've said if you put Peteren's heart (or Hindmarsh's for that matter) in guys like Vella, Dykes, Wagon etc Parra would be unbeateable.

Parramatta only have 3 players who try regardless of the score

Matt Petersen
Nathan Hindmarsh
Wade McKinnon

The rest of them need to hook up with Dorothy and find the wizard of oz.

He is definitely the best young forward running around ATM. Just so enthusiastic and wants to do the work. Is he a kiwi?
