Peyton Manning .. .. .. jackass!

I've never really been a fan of his - always thought he was media-hyped and overrated - but after this weekend, I've made up my mind .. .. .. he's a jackass!

The Steelers outplayed the Colts in just about every facet of the game for over 90% of the game.

Rather than giving credit to the Steelers for beating the NFL's best for thirteen weeks at their home ground and after a bye and hence becoming the only No. 6 seed to EVER advance to a conference championship game .. .. .. What's he do?

This clown, in his post-game press conference, openly blamed his offensive linemen for their loss. That kinda sheet you say in the locker rooms and leave in the locker rooms. You don't come out openly and bag your team-mates for the loss. Hell, why not blame Vanderjagt for a kick he should of made? Or maybe even yourself, Peyton?

As one reporter wrote in his post game review: "Until the frenzied final minutes, he [Peyton Manning] was mostly a non-factor." But according to Mr. Manning, it was his entire linesman's fault. Hmmm .. .. ..

Even Terry Bradshaw had to call the idiot on it and told Manning to take the loss on the chin like a man and stop bitching about what could 'a been. I don't ever recall the great John Elway - after losing Superbowl after Superbowl after Superbowl - act like a bitch, complain and point fingers, do you? He just persevered, grinded, took it like a man, came back game after game & season after season .. .. .. and then became a superstar of the highest magnitude: [read] champion player/QB.

Live and learn, Peyton.

Vanderjagt's kick was an absolute shocker.... for a man who is supposely the best kicker in the game.

I actually liked Manning before reading that article, but not anymore... what a bitch

Blade i had no idea you were a fan of the NFL... maybe i just haven't been paying enough attention.

I think Peyton is a great player, very smart and a great leader.. but what he said after the game was out of line and just sounds like a guy who has been knocked out in the past 3 seasons, remember last year he went on some holiday and wasn't heard of for weeks and reportedly really depressed and drunk... well maybe nothings changed.

I'm just happy we're not playing him next week. I finally find myself agreeing with you on something Blade, Elway did take the SB losses like a man and never gave up, its great he got rewarded for all the hard work he did and was able to leave the game on a high.

Some are saying the kicker missed on purpose..
I doubt it very much, but some Colts fans seem to think that he wasn't going to be around next year so he might aswell end mannings season. I dont buy that.

Manning is going to end his career like the great Dan Mairino. Put up some insane regular season numbers, but never win the a super bowl rimg.
Although at least Marino played a Superbowl - something Peyton will never do.

Its hard to say he wont win a superbowl.. he has the potential, he might need a fresh start in a new team?

He still is a talented QB no-one could convince me otherwise he just needs a lucky break to get to the big stage then who knows what would happen after that.

Manning is the ultimate competitor. He's a student of the game who always looks to better his play, and as he says with little time left to get it done, he may never get a chance to play in the Superbowl , let alone win it. Manning might not taking losing well, but who does?

which path will manning take?
The dan marino path of being the best 1/4back never to win a bowl
or
The John Elway path who lost a few bowls but came back to win 2 in his final yrs.
I think he will go down the marino path.

That could work, a fresh start with a Nick Saban coached Dolphins team might just do the trick. Not that it will happen.

We'll never know, but I think had the Colts stolen the game, that would have been the lucky break required. I don't think they would have been beaten this week or in the Superbowl had they made it. They didn't and I wouldn't be surprised if next year they go down like the Eagles did this year. The window of opportunity doesn't stay open forever and I think it is about to close on the Colts.

His been the leagues best qb for at least 3 years in a row, he has a great shot at winning the SB with the colts..i think everyone here is getting ahead of themselves..

The Colts are the most dangerous team in the NFL, Manning is miles ahead of the other qbs..which kills me to say since i think his an ass (his an ass since his better then the great favre lol).

I love it how people jump on the anti-Manning bandwagon at this time of year. Almost as much as I love it when people jump right back on the Manning-MVP bandwagon in about week 10 of the season.

But Paullyboy thats the point... he looks great during the season but come playoff time he doesn't look half as good.

You have summed it up great.

Tom Brady wouldn't have put down his linemen the way Manning did.

Elway didn't win until he got Terrel Davis to go with his passing game. But Manning already has Edgerrin James - offensively he's got everything he needs to win, and this year the D was improved too. The key for them next year will be if they are able to re-sign James, or replace him adequately. They still have a good enough team to take a few more cracks at the SB.

Last night Vanderjagt went on David Letterman and kicked a 46 yarder on the street in front of Lettermans' theatre, with Letterman holding. He wasn't making light of his missed kick, but I wonder how it will be perceived by the other Colts. His long snapper and regular holder were there with him btw.

I definitely don't believe he missed it on purpose.
