Peyton clearly.

Still a better QB than Brady in my opinion as well.

Eli is quickly becoming one of the best clutch players in the game. The giants this year weren't really a 'great' side, with a few exceptions. They could have just as easily finished right down the bottom of their conference if it wasn't for Eli. Obviously they have a great pass rush, but their running game is far from the best in the league, and with the exception of Cruz, they are usually well covered on the flanks, Eli just finds a way of getting the ball out wide.

Peyton of 3 or 4 years ago I definitely would have taken over Eli, now I'm not so sure, Peyton's career is pretty much over IMO. Peyton in his prime was a much better player than Eli though, but who knows, Eli still has quite a few more years on his side.

Eli for mine. Peyton had all the talent he could hope for and still won only one Superbowl.

Peyton had Harrison, Wayne, James and Clark to help him on O and guys like Sanders, Freeney and Mathis on D. I think the Giants have a much better D but Peyton had all the weapons and still came up short.

Eli.

2 rings, only going to get better with even more weapons in the future.

He has taken on his leadership role now.

I'll take Eli going forward and IMO he'll end up better than Peyton.

Eli is a very good quarterback and has won twice as many super bowls as Peyton. But the older Manning is, if not the best qb ever then one of the top three ever.

You can't just go by how many rings they've got as a measure of a QB, ffs Terry Bradshaw won 4 Super Bowls, but I don't have him anywhere near the top of the list

Those who have Brady by the nuts will say rings mean more. - Eli

Those who like a guy like Marino will say that it is relative to the impact they had on the game - Peyton

You've got to be joking me. This shouldn't even be a discussion. Peyton.

As I always say to people Re: Brady/Manning;

Which do you take, Brady (2000-2005) or Brady (2006-)?

One has three rings and the other a patchy playoff record. Why? The team as a whole didn't step it up for the playoffs.

I'm still taking the later Brady.

One of the few times the Colts D ever stood up in the playoffs was 2006. Dungy has a lot to answer for in that regard, his playoff record was simply dreadful for such a clued in coach with the talent available.

The Giants have a pretty talented roster tbf. They shouldn't have had such a mediocre regular season record.

Peyton was the Colts for 10 years. He was their leader.

Eli has only stepped upto that role in the last 4 seasons. He hasn't been as consistent as Peyton.

The rings argument as ever, is geniused.

I've said it a million times and will say it again

Big Ben is good but gee i don't regard him anywhere near elite, you can't help the team you play for. Why do you think LeBron James left the Cavs lol.

I'd rather have a balanced team to be perfectly honest, the Giants are one such example. Not world beaters on either side of the ball but they were good enough to get it done

It's important to point out as well with Sanders how little he ever played. When he played the Colts D was pretty elite but when he didn't....

In the Super Bowl two years ago Freeney played on one leg. As that game wore on whatever shots he had pre game clearly wore off and Brees had his way with that D.

The biggest problem with the Colts was the way that they were built and coached. Their D was built to extend the lead Peyton got them. This of course wasn't possible as often in the playoffs. Their Special Teams was and is year in, year out, absolutely dreadful. I don't buy this argument that because they invested so much money in their top tier players that their ST could never succeed. Of course they were built around core personnel but it is inexcusable just how poor the Colts ST has always been.

Peyton Manning of course should get some blame for their failures (just like Brady's in recent years) but it goes ott with him.

Eli isn't at the Peyton/Brady level. The Giants had two years before this where they blew early leads in their division (remember them being 5 or 6 and 0 and not making the playoffs). Would the Colts or Pats do that?

Yeah but the Colts were all offense like the current Saints, obviously that rarely works.

Sorry but being a Niners fan i won't be able to say they got it done for some time, Kyle Williams gift wrapped it to them.

That's a fair point, but on the contrary I'd say if Alex Smith was a better QB and they had a better bunch of receivers, Kyle Williams doesn't even come into the equation
