Pick the crowd and win! (its back!)

Yes, it has returned for a 2nd week. Im putting this up early this week because i don't know if i will find much other time this week to put it up. Also, i want to give everyone as much chance as possible to submit their picks. If foul weather hits anywhere, then everyone is given the opportunity to change their picks up until 7:30pm AEST on Friday night....
Um, anything else i forgot to mention? I will crown Willow as champion from week 1, although it was by no means conclusive and no one really got anywhere near picking the write figures. I wish all luck, and remember, the winner gets a return trip to the Firking Fun Bar! (Disclaimer: If any contestants return home from the Fun Bar in a 'disorderly and drunken' manner, then MFC is not to blame) ;)
OK...lets get going! Notice, all of these picks are made under the assumption of fine weather....

Let the predictions begin!

Ok, I thought I'd go to the opposite extreme this week.

Couple of points: Normally before this stage, I'd have the Tigers game a low crowd, but since they have struck back they are pulling attention, which is good because I'm sick of these mergers failing

This is fun.....wait till Sports Tab get a hold of this idea! Actually the sad thing about this is I have more chance of predicting the correct crowds for the round than the 50:50 bet of who's gonna win the games! Ohhh well....

I will quickly submit my 'wednesday night' assessments of the picks so far. Quite conservative overall, (which is probably a good idea given last weeks shamoozal) Although i do have a feeling that the saints/eels game will pack out parra stadium to the rafters given a good evening. Both sides played low quality teams in shocking weather last week, so im sure that many will be wanting to get out to this one. 23,000 is quite realistic, they could even get a sellout of 25,000 if all goes well...
The Panthers have quite a solid supporter base, even when the team has been fairing badly this year. This could be the real wildcard of the week (along with the tigers/bulldogs game) and anything from 6-11,000 is possible....
Keep them coming in, i see that a few 'regulars' are taking the easy option and not putting in picks yet. Pussies! Remember, 7:30 on friday is go time, all picks after that will result in you being given the booby prize, which is a boxed set of big brother ;)

LOL Dawson....a sell out!
I just figured out the reference to Newtown last night. On the footy show, they said that a pair of 'dawson' brothers played for the club in the 70s (i think!).. whats your relationship with them?? Are you one of the famous dawson twins?? lol....Excuse the ignorance, i don't know a heck of a lot about newtown and the 70s ;)
Cheers,
MFC.

"LOL Dawson....a sell out!

Well, it's hard to explain quite how hard it is to get people along to solo 1st Division matches. Despite a very high standard of football, people don't seem to want to go where they can park in the ground, eat a $3.50 steak sandwich and barrack for Australia's original RL team.
Mind you, other solo 1st Div. games usually get about 30-70 people, so we're not doing that bad by comparison. ".. whats your relationship with them?? Are you one of the famous dawson twins??" No, I'm neither Paul nor Chris - although Paul was my P.E. teacher at high school - you could always tell when he needed a bit of fitness - he'd drag us off for another lap of the cross-country course, the bastard. Let's just say I'm "involved" with the club. If you want to find out more about the Jets, I recommend the club history - "Out of the Blue" by Terry Williams - a great read. Or, visit our web-site: http://www.newtownjets.com Regards, TDT-1
