Piggybacking off the All Blacks

And what a dumb thread, stuff the team from another sport, our sport has values also, another thing that other lot don't have.

That's a bit rough mate - particularly given the fact I'm actually trying to use the ABs success to actually undermine the sport of Union.

Stuff union and stuff the all blacks, they would rather hang around with racists like South Africans when everyone else was told not too than have anything to do with Rugby League or anyone wanting to do the RIGHT thing, stuff them and let them die with their outdated slow racist wannabe blue blood code code.

(blue bloods are keeping that incestual line alive, you can have that, I would rather steer clear)

Seeing as it's American being talked about, how about we let them go their own way and decide for themselves what they want to do and how they plan about getting there all by themselves?

Let them walk before they try and run or they'll trip over and end up with an injury that they may never recover from and leaving all the hard work that has been done, shattered.

The biggest coup isn't the sold out crowd, but the fact the game is being shown live on NBC in America. They don't even show All Blacks test live on FTA here in NZ lol

Glad to see you're addressing the point in question here. I trust you're also boycotting the FFA and Wanderers for going and playing in the gender apartheid Saudi Arabia too?

But anyway, petty prejudices aside, the general levels of confusion in America about "Rugby" actually having two sports is a marketing opportunity, and one that could expose the game to a crowd of 60k. The flow on from that could be significant, with people taking an interest in big ticket events like the SOO and NRL GF, and thus pushing up the value of the TV rights in the states, thus helping us grow the game back here.

The idea is simple: let them think it's another "Rugby" All Blacks event, and then when they see League in action, they'll be a little confused but most likely quickly agree that ours is the superior sport.

I really don't get why you're so f**king aggro over that notion.

f**k off....

You have no f**king idea what your talking about... The NZRU is a lot different these days to the clowns who ran the game at that time...

It was the people of NZ who turned the tide during that springbok tour.... I have family who stood up against that tour and had massive scraps with police... They are also some of the people who now run the game in NZ.

Rugby League in NZ is a disgrace... It's run by gangs and drug dealers.

Rugby Union was always going to dominate in NZ over that disgraceful sport.

Anyway, cheap code-war point scoring aside, I actually think having such great exposure for the ABs could be good for the NRL if a little bit of mischievous marketing and planning is engaged in.

Let the Americans look after themselves, if they feel they need a full pro game played over there for some exposure, they'll ask the NRL and SL. The All Blacks play another sport, why should they be used by RL to grow another sport when if it was the opposite, I'd have the shits big time for union trying to hijack what they have done?

No, if RL wants to grow, it has to be because it's RL that's wanted, not because it's close and close enough will do.

Two different sports.

At least I have actual historical proof that NZ Union done some things the world did not like, you have hearsay with genuine spite.

f**king books...

I actually live in NZ and have been involved in both the Rugby Union and Rugby League communities...

RL has a disgraceful gang element to it which has a massive effect on getting parents to sign there kids up to RL clubs.

Just have a look at the place that's holding the test in NZ tomorrow night... Whangarei... There's been incidents at the Kensington Knights where players have pulled knives out on the f**king field...

But you keep reading up you f**king nerd...
