Player/coach???

I'm as red and white as anyone, but after watching the last 4 weeks, especially tonights dreadful effort, three friends and I each put $100 each on Saints getting the spoon at $11 .

What are we left to do. but get a bit back a few?

Key indicators:
* consistently losing the ball on the first tackle in our own half through ill discipline or trying to pop a pass which is just not on
* not finding touch on two occasions (unforgiveable)
* poor kicking game, going dead in goal too many times
* we have NO PLAY when we are 10 metres out from their try line. No one knows what to do!!
* We have no 2nd row, Willy Palu needs a rocket up his arse to get going
* Dean Young is not first grade material - he is simply not big enough, compare him to Nathan Hindmarsh, see?
* I'm starting to doubt the value in Ennis, he is definitely no piggie
* Thommo is gooooooneski

I PROPOSE THAT LUKE BAILEY FROM NOW ON BECOMES CAPTAIN/COACH. HE IS THE ONLY BUGGER PLAYING HIS ARSE OFF EACH WEEK. NATHAN BROWN, I WATCHED NEWTOWN PREMIER LEAGUE GO AROUND TODAY AND THEY WERE 10 TIMES BETTER THAN OUR TEAM TONIGHT. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME.

Please don't reply with the usual St George rhetoric ie, they have players injured, give them time etc. We are screwed up so badly, we can't even do the very BASICS.

I'd like to hear what others have to say, and please back up your rebuttals with proof.

Its up to you how you wish to spend your money, but anyone who claims to 'red and white as anyone' and then puts $100 on Saints getting the spoon, kind of loses me.

quote me if im wrong but there is no Willy Palu in the Dragons side.........not the first grade, premiers OR flegg..........last I knew he played for the Waratahs..........being a girl i prolly dont know much but hey.

Ok in regards to the rest for one, in yesterdays game they completed most of their sets of six, OR made early kicks, which i must admitt werent called for but none the less they kicked them, BUT they did NOT cough the ball up "constantly" on the first tackle, as you can see from the stats.

Hmmm since when does size matter? Obviously someone forgot to tell Bowen that or Sing......cause hell they arent that big and they do a fair job on the field.

If there was "NO PLAY " then how did they manage to score 4 tries? Just pure luck, or did the ball do all the playing?

Bailey.....Captain/Coach......are you thinking? ok for one Does he have the qualifications needed to be a good coach and two really how much more pressure do you want to put on a person?

Everything else that you stated i have to agree on. Their kicking game was bad and even their chase.

As for the Ennis comment at least he can last a full 80min game....unlike the "pig"

But you have to admitt tho they did come out firing..........something that has not happened.........for a while, but they did lose that fire pretty damn quickly. You have to admitt their game play itself wasnt all that sloppy not like the first 3 games. The defense up the middle was better than what it has been. The defence on the outside though OMG what was up wit dat? Seriously..... everytime they scored early on they ran up the outsides and got through...... then buy later in the game saints lost hope so just said "bugger it" and stopped defending full stop. Not to mention a particular player that wore the number 17, I'm sure you know who im talking about....... who just couldnt make the 10m line and kept giving away penalties..... I'm not saying Payne is a bad player, far from that, but if he's pulled up for the same thing again and again and again, maybe the ref should warn once......twice.....and maybe a third time, then sin bin 'em for infringing and see if that gets the message across. Maybe putting a couple of them off the field for a few minutes might drum it in, that they need to clean up their act.

The mistakes the players are making, can't come back to how the coach is coaching, Come on the roosters arent playing like they were last year are they? They are making poor judgements, and do people say its Phil Gould's fault? I don't think so. So why blame the Dragons coaching staff. Nathan Brown can only do so much. When the players hit the field it's upto them. They have so much pressure on them to perform, they are probably hitting the field thinking we gotta win, we cant stuff it up, in turn this CAUSES the stuff ups. Why doesnt Hagan come under fire in the public eye? Both teams aren't playing how people expect them to yet there's no pressure put on them and there are no rumours that there are rifts in the club becasue they are playing bad so WHY the Dragons?

Maybe if the public was to back off a little and let the club go about their buisness without the undue pressure, then MAYBE, just maybe there will be a change in their attitudes, in their playing, and maybe even in their overall outlook.[/b]

I know everyone will be thinking this, but I think 'Willy Palu' is Willie Manu, and he's unfortunately mixed Wycliff Palu's name in with Willie's.

Secondly, I might tip against Saints, I might give Saints shit when I'm at games (or in the lounge room, or to anyone who listens for that matter) and I might say Saints are shit, but I'd never put money on them losing, I'd never put money on them to get the spoon, and when it comes down to it I keep hoping something will change and next weeks game will be the turnaround.

Keep the faith, even if it's only a little.
