Phil get better and better with more confidence.......Cliff MANUA was awesome in premier league on Saturday too.

Similar build as LOMU however does not hold back, and went hard all day. Only problem with him was that when Penrith wanted to get dirty he wanted to take on the whole team by himself. Silly when we already had the penalties.

Keep it up Phil. Youve made it mate.....

Peachey - 7 - needed to step up and did - plenty of try stopping defence
Simmons - 8 - a genuine blinder - great positional play good defence great attack
Vagana - 7 his best game all year
Mellor - 7 great attack great defence
Covell - 7
Bird - 7 went ok for a guy who doesnt get much 1st grade time
Dykes - 6 poor kicking and wins against the feed kept the panthers in it
Stevens - 8
Hilder - 7
Nutley - 8
Williams - 6
Bailey - 7
Gallen - 8 would have been 9 if he didnt let himself get stripped so often

Maiava - 6
Leuluai - 7
Ise - 5 geez that was bad that pass - 2004 type stuff
Sullivan - 5 a passenger

Frenzy.

Not unexpected but I find myself in disagreeance with a lot of these ratings. The main one being how people justify a low 6 rating to Dykes based on game time. He played 35 minutes. How many minutes did Stevens play? Yet most gave him 8. Illogical Captain Kirk.

I maintain that if Dykes isn't on for 35 minutes we don't win that game. He was the general, he was leader even if he didn't have (c) next to his name. He was calling the defence and directing the attack. When he went off Penrith came back with a vengeance and if Wesser isn't sin binned we would of struggled to score.

So, mine are

Peachey - 8 - stepped up and became the leader. Great defence. 2 try assists and was always looking dangerous
Simmons - 7 - Continues his improvement but made one major error due to lack of confidence. Scored one good try by backing himself. Why didn't he back himself when he was run down by Rogers instead of looking for support? Should of pinned his ears back, he would of done him for pace.
Vagana - 8 along with Bailey made the right side a no go zone for the Panthers. Made many good runs.
Mellor - 7 tradesman like as usual. On the spot for 2 meaties.
Covell - 8 best winger on the field. His off the ball work is second to none.
Bird - 7 played well albeit rusty. Looked to offload and succeeded a couple of times.
Dykes - 8 The main reason we got out to a match winning lead.
Stevens - 8 in his current form can probably make 8 a standing rating. Just keeps doing it for us.
Hilder - 7 the invisible man had a spray of paint and became visible. Showed some of what he is capable today. If Gallen gets a holiday and Dykes is out he'd be my 5/8.
Nutley - 8 see Stevo
Williams - 7 like Simmons continues to improve. Plays mistake free football and is always there to do the dirty stuff
Bailey - 8 He is a rock. With Vags has the right side defence virtually impenetrable. Clean ups behind the marker +++ again
Gallen - 9 would have been 10 if he didnt let himself get stripped so often

Maiava - 5 not there yesterday. No impact this week
Leuluai - 6 made a couple of good breaks but his workload is quite low.
Ise - 6 was kept back to smash merkins in the final 20 and did.
Sullivan - 6 He's really become a square peg in a round hole. Did some good stuff but is playing like a bloke out to impress.

It's perception I guess Da Vinci. Also I guess people have different methods as to how they award their totals.

I reckon some people start guys off on 10 and deduct points for mistakes.

Others would start people off on 5 and add or deduct points as they see fit.

A few would start people off on 0.

Then there is probably quite a few that just copy other people or simply pluck the numbers from their ass.

cant speak for others but my low rating for dykes was for a terrible kicking game and a sloppy scrum feed

D.Peachey - 9 So much starch in defense. Won the game through 3 try saving tackles.
D.Simmons - 7 Probably his best first grade game. Could be handy in a season or 2.
N.Vagana - 8 He needs to borrow Ices head gear more often. Great running game.
P.Mellor - 6 he is getting beaten on the outside & the great man is covering for him.
L.Covell - 7 I actually dont think it was his fault for the missed goals. I saw him examining one of the balls with the ref.
G.Bird - 6 got beaten by preston & gower countless times. Never looked dangerous.
A.Dykes - 7 Quality performance with injury again.
P.Gallen -7 nearly a six for not learning about ball security. Obvioulsy the Pennys know something about him.
P.Bailey - 7 Good game, nice opening break.
R.Williams - 6 hes used in an odd manner.
J.Stevens - 9 Best prop in the NRL
M.Hilder - 7 Geez hes going well. How many consecutive games?
D.Nuttley - 7 what you would expect
H.Maivea - 6 must have been injured.? Bad Hair day?
P.Leualie - 6. I thought he was quiet. Dropped a sitter. Not his day.
M.Sullivan - 7 except for the grubber, good game. Did some very good things on & off the ball.
S.Isomonger - 6. Poor pass when he was getting drilled. Otherwise 2 sensational hits. Possibly the best 2 tackles of the day.

I used to think your comments were reasonably fair, although now i have come to realise you are either

a) sh*t stirring in general

b) Unable to get over a bias you have developed towards certain players.

c) sitting there watching the tele, but with the cord pulled out at the wall.

Peachey - 7 OK but not his best this year. Did lead when we needed it.
Simmons - 8 - better each week , as you all know -no suprise for me.
Vagana - 7 - just looking better each week now
Mellor - 7 - needed to improve his imput or was gone.
Covell - 7 -missed a couple -hmmm. don't make it a habit. General play still excellent
Bird - 7 - best I've seen him. Wanted to make a difference. Can he do it again and again
Dykes - 6 -looked like he wanted to shoulder all the burden. Wants to relax, play hard and enjoy himself more
Stevens - 8.5- HOW GOOD IS THIS GUY GOING.( I will never get sick of saying this)
Hilder - 7 - Good Walz
Nutley - 8- keeps doing it and doing it
Williams - 6- yet to really make an impact but definitely holding his own.
Bailey - 6.5- not as much impact this week
Gallen - 8 would have been 9 if he didnt let himself get stripped so often

Maiava - 6- Now has to do more than just a few hit ups
Leuluai - 7- DAMN this boy can run through anything
Ise - 6- Hmmm pass, but some good hits
Sullivan - 6 looked as though he wasn't used much in the last few years.

Coach- 8 won without Nod and Dykes- credit due- they look like a happy bunch and are playing to win in ANY circumstance.
