Players returning from injury for finals

Isn't it interesting how players seem to come back from pretty serious injuries so quickly when the finals are coming up.

Hindmarsh, Webcke, possibly Hodges and I remember Adam Dykes came back in a couple of weeks from a serious injury about 4 years ago to play in semis. Ruben Wiki did last year too.

If the injury had occurred to Webcke or Hindmarsh early in the season, I wonder how long they would have been out for? I guess with so much riding on the these big games players will put in much more effort to recuperate than they would early in the the year.

But having said that, an injury is an injury, so not sure what they do differently.

My question is, are these players just having stop-gap treatment to allow them to play one or 2 more games, and then at seasons end they start over? If Hindmarsh for example comes back, I couldn't inagine he could play Tri-nations too.

normally yes

players don't care as much about further damage as long as it's not too bad if they can get past those couple of extra games, cause they then have 6 mths or so to get over the injuries before the next season starts
