Playoffs week one

Wow what a couple of great games we've seen. Both games coming right down to the last play.

Seattle though, a little bit of bad luck with Alexander getting injured. The injury certain took the sting out of his game. Some of those penalties against the defence I don't think were justified either.
Just have to say though if their was one player I'd nominate to catch the ball for my life it would be Jerry Rice. I'm not sure what he was doing on the final play, but, with nothing to lose he'd be my no.1 reciever.

As for the Chargers, I can see why Shottenheimer has never been to the superbowl. With coaching like that at the end he never will either. His team careening down field like an out of control car, they get to the 20 then Shottenheimer slams on the brakes. If LT needed a break, fine, take him off the field then throw a pass to Mckardell or Gates, keep momentum going. Chargers choked big time on that. I wouldn't be placing all the blame on the kicker either. Kicking was dicy all day.

Both away teams have won so far so that bodes well for my Broncos.

My guess is you will never see that rookie kicker from San Diego in the NFL again.

It's not the first time that kickers and poor decision making has cost Marty in the playoffs. I remember one divisional game with the Chiefs. It might have been 1995. The Chiefs had gone through the season with a 13-3 record. The QB for most of the season had been Rich Gannon with their no.1 QB Elvis Grbac spending most of the season on the sideline.

So despite Rich Gannon being in great form and Grbac spending most of the season on the sidelines Marty goes with Grbac. The final score against the Colts was 10-7 with the chiefs kicker missing something like 3-5 shots at goal.

Marty and Brian Smith should get together one day and compare notes on choking in the big games. I think Smithy would shade Marty though by a dogs whisker.

Really? I was thinking the opposite - it's not often that more than 2 away teams win on one playoff weekend ;-)

I thought the Vikings had it in the bag but Paullyboy would be getting a little nervous now as the cheeseheads have brought it back to 24-17 with 13 minutes to go!

Following the Vikes/Pack game on the net as at work...

Farve has thrown 4 interceptions so far!!!

Even if they come back and win this game I think Farve has lost it....

If anyone is watching, can they describe what Moss did after the last TD?? Something about "Mooning" the Packers crowd??

Moss ran over to the base of the goal posts and turned his A#s to the crowd. He then made a motion as if to pull his pants down and moon the crowd. The game callers on Fox where not happy.

Randy Moss = the most talented WR in the history of the game

Randy Moss = one of the biggest jack asses in the history of the game.

One week he is walking off the field without his team mates, he has run over a female police officer, has come out and said he only plays when he feels like it meaning he gives about 80-90% alot of the time...he comes up with a idiotic celebration like that on perhaps the most historic field in NFL history.

Teammates reportedly got in his face when he left with .02 secs left to play last week...I would envisage another dose this week in the locker room. As talented as Moss is, he could perhaps be their undoing given his selfish, childish behaviour.

Commiserations to the great Brett Favre...my prediction was wrong, but you get that. Give us at least one more year Mr Favre!

Its a toss up between Moss and Owens as to who is the biggest show-boating,selfish,egomaniac in the game....

Thankfully one of them will be on the losing side next week...

.

that was a great weekend for me. both the rams and the vikings go through to winnable games the next week.

the seagulls choke again and should cut all their receivers and find receivers that can catch the ball.

have to agree with eelectrica, that shottenheimer really swallowed hard when the game was there for the taking after the jets tried to give them the game after they had won it. those three nothing plays reminded me of martz at his worst, how did he think a 40 yard kick would be automatic in those conditions?

broncos were never going to trouble the colts.

vikings slapped around the walking timebomb favre and easily disposed of the overrated packers. and what a great celebration by moss. i hope the packers fans remember it all summer long while they wonder what happened to their team again.

I find Moss's antics are a lot more malicious than Owens. I can't really think of anything that Owens has done to be really offensive except maybe the Ray Lewis rip off. Although as someone who can't stand Ray Lewis I found that hilarious.
