all these geniuses on a rugby league forum like alwaysloser and perthwrongs thinking they know more than the business people running a billion dollar organisation is hilarious.

it's like they think those businesses dont use analysts and metrics to come to conclusions and estimates/forecasts. im sure their phd degree's in economics, expansionistering, stadium engineering earned from being on internet forums surely has more weight to it than blokes who do it for a living.

guess thats why they spend so much of their time here on forums, to spread their "deep insight knowledge" thats obviously way too good to put into practice in the real world. would be funny to see these cobs laughed out of a building if they actually tried to administer their "thoughts" and perceived "knowledge" around real people who actually know wtf they're talking about lol.

stick to drinking pints cobs.
Someone was taking pot shots at him the other day on here and it funny seeing him getting upset over it

Oh the irony was off the charts

It's not dumb when V'landys says it because the peanut gallery are on a hero worship binge and anything he says is swallowed up.
alwaysloser claming to be a big shot now who knows more than everyone else. he does this from the comfort of being on this forum 24/7 obsessing over posters he claims he doesnt care for but cannot go a day without trying to get their attention.

alwaysloser, the resident forum loser.

I bet Panthers are impressed the NRL CEO is advocating for their star man to move clubs lol

NRL CEO Andrew Abdo has revealed he hopes Mary Fowler's heritage will help grow rugby league in PNG and make the new team a success. And he admitted it would be the icing on the cake if her boyfriend Nathan Cleary decides to play for the PNG franchise as well.

The Australian government has given the NRL $600 million to set up a new team in Port Moresby, and the PNG franchise will come into the competition in 2028. Part of the $600 million will go towards building a gated community for the players and their families to live in, and potential targets will have the added incentive of not having to pay tax if they decide to join the new team.

Speaking on the 'Hello Sport' podcast this week, Abdo said he hopes Cleary and Fowler stay together long-term so she can help promote the PNG franchise. “It could be something that plays out in the future as something really exciting,” Abdo said. “A really exciting combination isn’t it?

"It captivates people. There will be a lot of people that are Mary Fowler fans that now are interested in rugby league. There’s a lot of people who know nothing about sport who are interested in the romance between the two. And obviously if Nathan was playing for PNG down the track that would be pretty interesting as well.”

If you were PNG, how much would you offer Ivan/Nathan? $4million a year package? It would probably be worth it! It would still leave plenty of money in the cap due to tax exemptions.

I dont think that is how the scheme will work. The tax exemption goes to the player not the club.

So the club would maybe offer him a similar amount to other clubs however the player would be personally better off to the tune of what he would of paid at his marginal tax rate (in this case its 47%)

What ever the contracted amount it must go towards the cap.

One of my all time fave Hull KR players is heading home to be involved.

📰MEDIA RELEASE: GENE TO HEAD COACHING DEVELOPMENT AT PNGRFL

The Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League (PNGRFL) are proud to announce that they have secured the services of PNG Kumul #166, Stanley Gene to continue the development of rugby league in PNG. Gene joins the team as the Coach Development Manager.

Gene's outstanding playing career includes playing for Goroka Lahanis in 1993-94 and the former Lae Bombers the following year. He then played over 350 games in the English Super League and First Division competition in a career spanning over 17 years at top level Rugby League. He represented the PNG Kumuls in 16 Test Matches including 3 World Cups.

Following his retirement, he moved into coaching and was the head coach of Gateshead Thunder and Assistant Coach at Hull KR to the Super League team. He was also the Head Coach of Hull KR Academy team.

Gene’s immediate focus in the new role will be to support all Digicel ExxonMobil Cup coaches in the 2025 season. He will create a Talent Identification Program for coaches across the country. This program will focus on coaches who are identified and want to progress into our club pathways programs and beyond.

PNGRFL Chief Executive Officer Stanley Hondina said:

“Stanley returning from England to help grow and develop the game is another wonderful step forward for PNG. As a player who had such a distinguished playing career and represented our country with pride, having him back in the country and available to serve at the PNGRFL is a great opportunity.”

“His recent experience in coaching in the Super League and Academy programs will be of great benefit to our clubs. As we continue to drive to improve the game, the importance of coaching at Youth, Santos Cup and Digicel ExxonMobil Cup level is critical.”

Stanley Gene spoke on the opportunity saying:

“I would like to thank the PNGRFL for giving me the opportunity to come and work with the team who have done so much in bringing the game to the next level. I am very passionate about rugby league as this game gave me the opportunity to fulfil my dreams in playing and now coaching.”

“To be given the opportunity of helping and giving back to our local coaches is something I am very excited about, and I cannot wait to get out to the clubs and start.”

Yeah, I think I worded my post wrong. You can pay huge overs to Cleary, as the tax exemption for the players means you can get the rest at a lower rate. Cap wise.
