Pointless thinking of Finals until.....

.....we stop conceding tries from a kickoff. Its now three weeks in a row this has happened. Just not good enough. Giving up back to back tries is bad enough, but to do so without making a single tackle is demoralising to us & gives the opposition the platform needed for a scoring blitz. Don't know what's gone wrong with our defence in the past month but we are almost out of time to fix it.

Yeah that was very dissapointing that and the penalty goal before that try was essentally the difference. Ill put it down to fatigue this week..
We can still make the 8..were only 2 points shy..we just need to knuckle down and get a few player back into from.

Could it be something to do with the captain being on, then off.
It shouldnt be a problem in first grade......but hes the one that just keeps
re-iterating the basics....move up in one line from the kick off,
etc etc.

i think the quicker john wilson is gone the better, i thought it was good having him there for defence but his defence is terrible

Im bye no means a Wilson fan but it was not entirely his fault - Halatau rushing out of the line left the gap in the defence.

the thing is.. if that kickoff had of went our way, everyone would have been saying how good it was.

richards kicked it high, and galea and one of two others charged after it. they were a scond or two too slow and croker went through the gap and the rest is history.

There "gap" only appeared because Wilson did his best impersonation of a turnstile. I don't know what has happened to Wilson but he's gone from a solid defender last year to a very ordinary one this year. He must be dropped.
The only arguement I give any credence with regards to a Kerr/Prince halves combo. is that it may introduce a vulnerability in defence. The way Wilson is tackling (or not tackling to be precise), I don't see that we would be any worse off, whilst gaining some creativity & kicking options.

if we don't beat manly then forget the finals.

Galea should be 5/8th. his cut out ball to moodie was an exact replica to the one he threw to coconuts against the knights a couple of years back...plus he can kick.
