Positional changes over origin

Why not have both?
1. Coote / Moylan
6. Moylan / Coote
7. Maloney

I'm fine with Reynolds in the team. But I think the above combinations could be better. A spine with 3 blokes who can and will run the ball aswell as have the ability to set up a bloke outside them would have the defence sitting back a bit in 2 minds.

Reynolds isn't running. So they can ignore him completely.

It's starting to look like Moylan might get picked in the 1 to act as a ball playing five-eighth in possession, sort of like he does at Penrith. It might work, but you need some real tough nuts to ensure he doesn't get the snot belted out of him. Then you could have J or A Reynolds with Maloney in the halves.

Moylan will have to cop the beating like all the spine players do in origin, im sure he can handle it. Id say they will want him attacking exactly like he does at Penrith. I like the reported halves pairing of Reynolds and Maloney as well, Moylan should be able to work well with both of them and wont be expected to do much if any kicking. Just play his usual game.

Where's the people reporting getting the Moylan will play mail from. Last I heard they wanted Dugan as he's a big body bringing the kicks back. I think Moylan and Cartwright make us have a better team then QLD. Just we always go defensive which rules both out

Fox sports is reporting that Moylan, Mansour and Cartwright will all be picked. Laurie remains non committal.

Moylan and Mansour (and Carty) have been selected by the media. Daley hates Penrith, so I wouldn't be surprised if Merrin is the only one picked.

Moylan can take a big hit. Luke Lewis belted him and he drpped the ball but swapped to defence straight away. The hit didn't phase him and he took it like a champ.

Then dickhead Ennis initiated a bit of a fight and we got a penalty out of it. Moylan is tough despite looking like a pretty boy underwear model. I think he will do fine in Origin and take a beating if QLD try to give him one.

Im most concerned about Mansour. He will get tested with bombs and while he has been great this year for us I feel like he's the one most likely to make a mistake under pressure. Although it's his only area to be concerned about. He will mae 150+ metres, a few tackle busts and offloads and probably earn a penalty or two. If the ball hog centres pass the ball he will finish off well too.

Ill be happy either way tbh. Id like for them to get their recognition and learn from that environment but if they don't get picked then it works out well for Penrith which is what I care about most.

If Moylan is picked ( I'd pick Coote) then hopefully we see DWZ at fullback with someone like young Edwards on the wing. Give him a taste of first grade

Moylan and Cartwright will have defensive lapses coupled with 1st game nerves.Especially Moylan.

The only plus for Cartwright will be if Merrin is picked and both come from the bench at the same time so Carty will feel a bit more comfortable as Merrin can talk him through.

Coote has shown numerous times this year that he can stop opposing players right on the line,no matter how good they are.

So Coote gets my vote for the #1 until Moylan shifts to 5/8,then he'll make the squad.

I don't get the defensive mindset. NSW have tried that & it's worked once in 10 years.

Given our halves lack the quality of QLD they need as much assistance as they can get. That's where Moylan comes in.

Dugan down with an injured elbow - don't know the damage but it was in an ice pack after the game. Makes the odds shorten on Coote or Moylan if there is a lingering injury.

NSW need game breakers and we've got them all. I don't think another year would hurt for Moylan, Cartwrighr and Peachey but I back then to handle it. Moylan in particular i think a lot of people expect to be thrown by the niggly side of Origin but he is as unflappable as they come. He's also shown continual improvement whenever he's stepped up a level and if he can continue to learn from everything he will be an even better player for us.

My one worry is that Daley plays the same one dimensional brand of football as always and our guys are stuck playing a type of grinding footy they are just not suited to.

If I had to pick one that would boost the side it would be Peachey as a utility. He could cover almost any injury and be dangerous.

I said earlier I think Moylan needs a little more time to hit top gear after his injury but if Coote gets in and makes a fist of it Moylan may never get a chance unless he plays halves in the future (looking less likely).

Mansour would do alright and maybe deserves a stab but there are a few other wingers that would go fine.

Still think Cartwright is a year off but won't be upset to see him there.
