Is boxhead the most nauseating poster on LU?

Speaking of nauseating (for non souths fans) and speaking of "positive stories from the Rabbitohs". Weidler reporting Inglis in secret talks with Crowe. I'm picking he's in red and green round 1 2011.

Let's not bother with the 2011 competition, should just give us the trophy now and save us all a lot of time and energy.

Nice to see some good news from an international perspective to balance the fact that the last couple days have made us a laughing stock in many corners of the globe.

Agree BunniesMan. At the moment, I would rather read a team list than reading the tripe about a so called mad monday joke.

Weidler is a legendary journalist. He makes Laurie Oakes look soft. Weidler = best journalist in the country.

On a serious note, it's not just him and channel 9 reporting this, channel 7 and Triple M too. And it's being reported Souths are "confident" of Inglis joining us for 2011.

What this story does highlight though is the crying need for the NRL to be on television in North America.

In 2008 the NRL was placed on cable TV for a short time and the game actually started to gain some audience numbers. But instead it was pulled as the NRL started demanding broadcasting rights payments in a market that wasn't ready to pay for it yet as there was not enough audience penetration.

NFL fans would go nuts for League as it's linear playing configurations makes sense to them. It's also on TV when it's the NFL closed season.

Russell Crowe is an amazing ambassador for Souths, but more than that he could be an amazing ambassdor for the sport overall. The NRL should be engaging him to use his contacts in the US to get us television coverage over there.

Instead of sniping at Souths and Russell we should be applauding them and engaging them in assisting our growth in North America. Like it or not, Souths are the NRL's biggest asset on the international scene because of him.

Eww, Manchester City sucks. Arsenal ftw.

With 17 minutes remaining, a Birmingham chance arose when Murphy outpaced Dave Ewing. Goalkeeper Trautmann dived at the feet of Murphy to win the ball, but in the collision Murphy's right knee hit Trautmann's neck with a forceful blow. Trautmann was knocked unconscious, and the referee stopped play immediately.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1956_FA_Cup_Final#cite_note-T179-57

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1956_FA_Cup_Final#cite_note-T179-57 Trainer Laurie Barnett rushed onto the pitch, and treatment continued for several minutes. No substitutes were permitted, so Manchester City would have to see out the game with ten men if Trautmann was unable to continue. Captain Roy Paul felt certain that Trautmann was not fit to complete the match, and wished to put Roy Little in goal instead.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1956_FA_Cup_Final#cite_note-58

However, Trautmann, dazed and unsteady on his feet, insisted upon keeping his goal. He played out the remaining minutes in great pain, with the Manchester City defenders attempting to clear the ball well upfield or into the stand whenever it came near. Trautmann was called upon to make two further saves to deny Brown and Murphy, the second causing him to recoil in agony due to a collision with Ewing, which required the trainer to revive him.[60]

No further goals were scored, and the referee blew for full-time with the final score 3–1 to Manchester City. As the players left the field, the crowd sang a chorus of "For he's a jolly good fellow" in tribute to Trautmann's bravery.[52] Roy Paul led his team up the steps to the royal box to receive Manchester City's third FA Cup. Trautmann's neck continued to cause him pain, and Prince Philip commented on its crooked state as he gave Trautmann his winner's medal.[31] Three days later, an examination revealed that Trautmann had broken a bone in his neck.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1956_FA_Cup_Final#cite_note-bio184-60

Not a Souths fan but certainly agree with this. The NRL finals were on spike and the response was great. If they could have got regular season footy it would've been amazing. The NRL 'selling' it to ONEAmerica or whatever it is was a stupid move. They probably got enough money to pay for morning tea for the week at NRL HQ

Have Russel Crowe (with a gladitorial element going) on SPIKE, and push it to a market that would appreciate the game.
