Found this quote interesting:

"Aaron Cannings played Premier League tonight and will be in the mix for the top team next week - and we might even have one or two more jump out of the cake next week as well."

Captain Cayless perhaps?

and/or Eric Grothe, will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow afternoon and come Saturday night???????

I think Cayless will absolutely be there against the Panthers and maybe Eric as well. Question is which one of the forwards do you drop they all played well again for the second week running. If I had to pick the weakest I'd probably have picked Vella, although likely to be Tsoulos as the least experienced.

Grothe Jnr of course would slot straight in for Ash. Then you've got the possibility of Dykes finding a spot. Be interesting to see who runs on. I'm tipping it won't be the same as the one named tomorrow.

although this is just getting more and more like a sad Ground Hog day version of events of last year's season, particularly with stars coming back from injury in the last couple of rounds - i really hope it won't turn out the same????? :?

i just hope they can keep playing well and come up with another win, i mean i can't really see everything falling into place and us making the finals, but.......

if players like Captain Cayless and others do come back and are fit, who do you drop at the moment and hypothetically if Cayless, Cannings, Grothe and even Dykes are all fit and availableand are going to be picked what is the best team or squad would you (or supercoach) name (or play) for this weekend?????

for me, if all 4 were available i would pick in numbers 1-17 and play the starting side as listed below.......

1 Wade McKinnon
2 Matt Peterson
3 Junior Langi
4 Luke Burt
19 Eric Grothe
6 Chris Thorman
7 Michael Witt
13 Daniel Wagon (c)
12 Craig Stapleton
11 Nathan Hindmarsh
10 Michael Vella
9 Lee Hopkins
8 Corey Pearson

14 James Webster
15 Dean Widders
20 Nathan Cayless (c)
21 Aaron Cannings

16 Adam Peek
17 Justin Tsoulos
18 Adam Dykes
4 Ash Graham

I know if Cayless was fit, he should probably start and lead them out, but imagine the roar around Parramatta stadium when Cayless got off the bench to come onto the field and it might be good to keep him out of the early stuff and let him come on and just rip in along with Cannings

it would be difficult to leave out big Tsoulos, but Cayless and Cannings?????

and if Junior Langi is out with injury (or God forbid Wade or Sideshow), put Wagon into the centres, Hopkins to lock, Webster to starting hooker and more fowrads onto the bench!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i'm starting to get like Big Kev - "I'm Excited"!!!!!!!!!! ;-)

Id even play Guru in the centres. He would be very damaging, I think he may have played there at the Roosters.

Agree with Caylo on the bench, that gave me chills actually. The team would really fire for this game with some of those guys back.

Maybe BS realises we could make the 8, miracles permitting of course, but hey stranger things have happened.

Id go with this line up:

1. Wade
2. Petersen
3. Burty
4. Guru
5. Ash
6. Thorman
7. Witt
8. Pearson
9. Hopkins
10. Vella
11. Hindy
12. Staples
13. Wagonator

14. Webster
15. Widders
16. Cayless
17. Dykes/Caanings

THe team just has a "confident" look about it.

Both Cannings and Cayless?

I dunno.
They've both been out a while, Cannings didnt get a lot of game time last week.
They'd both need to a bit of a rest....could be a bit of a risk, but we dont have any moire second chance cards, do we?

And I know webster has been good the last couple of weeks, but I'd play Dykes in that role this week.

Cannings might get a bench spot, but who do you drop? Peek played well, Tsoulos did alright, and Vella would never get dropped. They might give Stapleton a rest for playing the whole season in first grade?

Injuries will determine the backline, with maybe Widders or Wags having to make the move out to the centres, freeing up another forward/bench spot. With Grothe I'm not sure, if he's match fit and ready then it's 50/50 imo between him and Graham for a wing spot this week.

And Dykes, I think everyone knows where I think Dykes should be now...

Grothe, won't be on the park again this season, that was from his own mouth on saturday night,
Cayless on the other hand is looking likely

yeah i didn't really think that Guru would be back......

but would love to see the Big Man "Captain Cayless" out there......

i really believe that Parra miss his presence (and his workload and skills) imeasurably - i really think that the boys just lift when he is on the field or when he does somehting special

i think a lot of people underestimate his impact on Parra and how much he means to the club and in many ways even more so than Hindy

big Caylo is my favourite EEL - no doubt!!!!!!

Cayless sjhould come in for Stapleton, who goes to lock in place of Wagon. Ever notice how our pay slows down when Wagon has the ball?

maybe a little Misty, but Stapleton at lock would slow it down even more.....????

and Wags is a trooper and a workhorse and needs to be there in 13 IMHO

Wags tackles really well when at lock. That's about it though, his hit ups are not real crash hot, and seem a bit slow motion. But someone's got to do it I guess...

yes his unfashionable!!

yes his slow!

yes his got bugger all ball skills,

but if it hadn't been for him, our AGAINST! column would have atleast twice the points than it has and poor old Hindy would probably die from over exhaustion.

And 1 more thing about Wags, I believe since Caylo broke his arm we haven't lost a penalty count and they say referees are heavilly influenced by the actions of the captain, and I believe maybe! he should either keep the role to himself or share the bourdon with Caylo, and have co-captains.

Caylo can look after the troops and Wags can deal with the man in the middle! what do reckon?

there's nothing wrong with the way Cayless talks to the referee's.....

that game against the Cowboys where he got suspended and re-broke his arm was just a one-off and more of a beat up by the media

most sections of the media simply said all Cayless did was keep the ref honest and did his job in a polite manner - he didn't swear or anything like that????

Cayless is the man and Wagon is his deputy - simple as that
