Premier League Round 11

Sorry guys but I have been unable to do a report this week. Uni and work were just too much.

BUT I can give you some enlightenment.

Newtown 18-16 Canberra.

A heartstopper at the dustbowl that is Henson Park. Ironically, it was a penalty goal that won it for Newtown. The Jets have struggled in the goalkicking department this year.

Souths 52-6 Norths

The Big Black Bears were, by all reports, woeful. Souths ran riot carving up the Shoremen for all to see. Again Ben Black was a lone standout for the Bears.

-----

If anyone has anymore, keep it coming.

THANKS TO THE NSWRL WEBSITE FOR THE SCORES

Cougars 40-20 Wests

The Cougars accounted for the Magpies in this match played at Campbelltown Stadium. The Magpies couldn't maintain their momentum after their shock upset over the Raiders, as the Cougars asserted their status as competition heavyweights.

------

Balmain 52-4 Bulldogs.

The credibility of a certain poster on this forum came under serious doubt as the Tigers took Canterbury to the doghouse. It was a huge win for Balmain who are well and truly back on track to finish near the top in PL.

------

Manly 16-23 Sharks

An upset in the battle for the hyphenated beachside clubs. The soaring Manly-Warringah dropped in altitude to lose out to Cronulla-Sutherland, a team they were expected to beat. It won't get any easier for Manly, who play Canberra away next week

------

Parra 28-24 Saints

Another upset this round as the Eels overcame the Dragons in a close encounter. There would've been no booing this Parra performance as the Eels knocked off one of the genuine title contenders in the Saints, whose side has been stretched due to injury and representative honours at NRL level.

-------

So there we have it. Interesting points for the week,

1) Newtown's upset. Good to see them hanging on but they can't be conmplacent at Newcastle.

2) Balmain and Souths registering huge wins. Are Norths on the way down to the lows of last year? Is Fanny Batter's opinion to be valued?

3) Upsets by the Sharks and the Eels. Great stuff. Not all matches in PL are predictable.

I think there are a few Bears fans in the Burrow. I saw one at Souths-Wests Tigers at Leichhardt Oval 2 years ago and they had a Bears scarf on.

Yeah i saw the second half of Premier League and there Bears really did play poorly. Black looked dangerous with the ball in hand and Thurston the lock and Chan the fullback played orright but apart from that it wasnt good to watch at all.

the nswrl is hopeles. i no we always talk about the jbc bias at the nswrl but it is getting worse just look at the past week in the website.

no match report this week on the website but there was for jbc. also they didnt put scores on the front page

last week there were no pl teams for round 11 on the website. jbc had it on the front page. bloody hell.

I noticed that too FB. I didn't mention it for fear of sounding like a broken record.

It's good to see other people care. PL is a lot more popular than the NSWRL gives it credit.
