Price is the first coach since David Waite in 2000 at the merged venture club to be shown the door midseason.

That's not entirely correct about David Waite. The announcement was made mid-season, but Waite actually saw out the season. The 'door' didn't officially get a show until the 2000 off-season.

To my knowlegde, Steve Price is the first Saints coach to be actually fully removed from his position mid-season.
