Would you care to explain in legal terms why Souths would not have been compromised in anyway, shape or form if they had sacked Auva'a? Even having to appear in court would be an ordeal for the club. Like I said earlier, if he had only played 2-3 games that season and not featured in our grand final team, then no one would be questioning how Souths handled the situation.

because he pled guilty.

Auva?a pleaded guilty to drunkenly attacking his ex-girlfriend in January. The 98kg centre pushed the woman to the floor and punched holes into the wall of her home in southwest Melbourne, before grabbing her arms and slinging her into a wall. When her housemates called the police, he fled.

It makes no difference. They knew what he meant to them at the time, I wouldn't of known him if I fell over him.

But he did play more than a few games and was a lot more than a fringe first grader because Souths let that be the case.

They didn't know he was going to be as good as he is and what he was worth. They can't predict the future. They probably knew he was going to be good but I doubt they expected that he would have the impact that he did.

Whether Souths would have been found guilty or not is completely irrelevant.

Well, at least we've established your knowledge of law is virtually zero.

Found guilty? It wouldn't be a criminal case, it would be a civil case so no findings of guilt could be made.

Its probably better than yours. Your missing my point. What I am saying is that South did not want to risk having any legal proceedings in any, shape or form being taken against them. Regardless of the chances of being sued, Souths felt it best to wait until all legal proceeding had concluded before acting. Lets be realistic, do you not think Souths would have consulted proper legal advice before they acted the way they did?

I just can't fathom how much of an idiot Richardson is to not think this would get found out. Or that blatantly lying about it would have a good result. And if he is not lying and he genuinely was unaware of all this, then he is clearly unfit for his new role at the NRL. On that, has anyone asked him yet to clarify what he meant when he said "Not that I know of" in relation to the question whether John Sutton's axing as captain was related to any off field incident? I'd love to hear his answer.

No one has offered any decent argument as to why Souths should have acted any different to the way they did, least of all you. So if your not going to offer anything constructive, then kindly piss off!

Better than mine? Yet you didn't even know that civil proceedings do not deal in guilt. You really are clutching at straws here. If Souffs weren't considering sacking Au'va, they wouldn't have taken legal advice on it. If you think there could be any real challenge after a player pleaded guilty then you really are talking out your arse. You're defending a scum club for scum actions without any knowledge to base your comments on. You're out of your depth.

The old sweep it under the carpet trick.
Classic stuff.
Wonder how many others get " satisfaction" from Souths .
