I can't ever remember our sport receiving so much publicity around the world before. What a great World Cup so far!

That would absolutely crap that bandana wearing gimp Fitzsimons ,a rabid Republican and rugby league hater.
Can we now say rugby league"the Game for the Elite".

FitzSimons is a union gimp and arrogant, no doubt. But he's also highly intelligent and absolutely correct about Australia becoming a republic.

By previous standards, it's been phenomenal. The promotional team involved have earned more then their pay IMO.

Anyone who wears a bandana in his 50s is hardly intelligent. And dolphins are highly intelligent.Anyone who ignores rl history in France is unintelligent.Anyone who lies about rl not being played in countries is unintelligent.
He is a good speaker and writes books ,he is also a narcissist.Ive seen him humbled in debates on Sky.

Becoming a republic will not solve our debt problems, our employment problems, our balance of payment issues.
The country has to get back on the right track economically before worrying about changing the flag or whether we should or should not be monarchists.
Either way I am concerned about the country.
And I proudly disagree with the clown on about 90% of his views.

The fact rugby league gets to meet royalty, when the Wallabies did the same would annoy the sh*t out of him.

Stop arguing about fitzsimmons and talk about the topic.

It is a great thing for the game, English and Australian media have been smashing it, hopefully so have a lot of other countries' media

Yep it shows the game is getting a bit of decent recognition, which the critics have always claimed it never does or will.

I don't understand your point. I said he was a union gimp and arrogant. And to say he's unintelligent is silly. You don't get paid for your opinion in a broadsheet newspaper by being a dumbarse. And while I agree that it's great publicity for the players to meet old Charlie, FitzSimons is exactly right about the republic.

Yeah Fitzsimmons:lol:....his feminist wife (whom seems to be lauded by many women), who is also a rabid Republican and RL hater, is no better either. Can't stand her.

Him wearing the bandana wreaks of him trying to be the cross between a tough street fighter and Carlos Santana wannabe.

And yeah, him boasting about the superiority of Union's international game over League's is quite rich given that as you said, he SELECTIVELY ignores France's RL history and the reason why the growth of the once burgeoning game there was geniused in favour of Union...

He's also bitter and twisted he was never given the opportunity to play Rugby League at even average level.

After that knock he copped from that French midget (probably the highlight of his short Union career), he may be so deluded now into thinking that the Randwick RUFC is RL at an average level:lol:

Oh you're naive.

Ever read the dailylife section of fairfax? There's more feminist dumbarsery than you can poke a stick at.

Really intelligent thoughts are confrontational and intimidating to many readers.

Being a Op-ed contributor has little to do with intelligence, and more to do with networking and communication skills.

Wow, they got to meet the corgis.

And the queen as a bonus.

On topic, Charles is a big advocate of the commonwealth and as a lot of the teams in the WC are members it makes sense that he would be interested in the tournament.
