proffessional fouls

covell was taken out in a try scoring opportunity
this was a proffesional foul
it should have been 10 minutes

4 match officials - ref 2 linesmen and a video ref should have reminded the ref if he momentarily forgot the rule

a get square on wesser for a lesser infringement in the second half was not appropriate

why nothing is made of this in the RL press amazes me as such moments can be the difference in a game of first grade football

the press are more interested in discussing where the panthers went wrong rather than anything else

Consistant, inconsistant refereeing I am used to.

There were far worse performances from Refs this weekend, so I can't see it being mentioned.

What gives with the scrum push for Prestons try.

Don't the ref's tell them not to push?

This is something that really annoys me as Cronulla twice that I have seen this year have done the same thing and got the turnover only for the ref to call them back and the opposition got to re-feed the scrum.

I am happy for the scrums to be a bit of a contest again but it has to be refereed consistently (Oxymoron?)

I pick up the papers and its all about how bad the Panthers are! Jeezz this pissess me oFF . They didnt look that bad to me ! Ok Gowie had a bad game ( he must have lost a packet at the races on Saturday). I think we out defended them and forced them into lesser options on the last tackle. Their forwards are still way good and to get over the top of them is a great achievement. Well done Sharkies.

Not only that, For and Against is going to be critical this year, like no other year. We could find 4-5 teams locked for the eighth spot, or it could be the difference Between making the top 4 and not. So when there is a stuff up made in a game, and you hear the commentators say later..."ahh well, there was no harm done in the end, they took the 2 points", just think about what effect it could have come September.

I agree on the lewis penalty . It had to be 10 in the bin , but its wrong to dsay whessers was not as bad, his was a text book example of 10 in the bin for holding down the tackled player in a try scoring postion.

Generally Smith got good wraps for his performance by the way. not saying I agree, he did.

no doubt it was the lesser of the two infringements

i thought the ref had a great game and if he makes a mistake we have 3 other officials that should advise him

I think you'll find that he gave Penrith a warning about professional fouls in that instance. Paul Gallen and Peach (as captain) also received a warning about the same thing. So Wesser was professional fouler #2 and referee Smith had no hesitation in ordering him off.
