Why is nrl being shown live on gem this year? Is it too good to be true and will it end? Also tv broadcasters for the test on Friday and what times for Perth? I reckon we should get a sticky thread for what time each week rl is on and what channel.

The exemption to be able to show NRL on GEM is only till April 30th (no idea why they didn't ask for the full season like AFL did?). So it will be live on Fridays and delayed on Sunday until then. Hopefully it will be continued after that.

The downside is that they have moved the Sunday game from live on the main channel to 2hours delay on GEM, same time as Fox. This has meant a drop in a growing audience from around 25K to around 5k. Come to your own conclusions on why they would do that!

Whether the live Fri games continue after 30 April will almost entirely depend on how the TV deal is going. It would not surprise me one bit if C9 pull the live coverage after 30 April and try and blame it on not having the exemption

Been enjoying the Friday live game but the Sunday game with all the ads is painful! Just got fox installed thankfully. Best news is that challenge cup and SL is live on eurosports so even more RL to watch!
