C.Ronaldo is an excellent player and the best penalty taker I've ever seen. He never misses and always sends the keeper the wrong way.

He will look good in Madrid colours next year:-

Casillas

Cicinho-Salgado-Helguera-R.Carlos

Beckham-----Fabregas

C.Ronaldo--------------Robinho

Raul

Ronaldo

HALA Madrid! Ok I know it's way off topic sorry...

Christiano Ronaldo is a show pony. Got some great skills but there's no end product, and there never will be. He also takes bitching and moaning to a new level. If i was Rooney, if I saw him again at old trafford, I'd chin him.

And Ericsson demonstrates again what a poor coach he really is. Picks players based on favouritism rather than form (Beckham, Lampard) and asks the team to play in a boriing, negative, defensive fashion. It's just not the right way for that group of players to play.

Just wondering if they'll make Rooney captain of England now?
Its what the poms normally do with their players that get sent off at the world cup isnt it?
I note some comments on Lampard and Rooney being disappointing at the World Cup.
They have been but apart from 1 free kick Captain Pretty Boy would top my list of disappointments.
Wrong man leading them,wrong tactics.
Waste of a good football team.
Pick Gerrard and Terry and build a team around them and they shouldnt go too far wrong.

Owen Hargreaves was phenomenal and was deserverdly man of the match. he was everywhere and i was just amazed by his fitness levels as he played 110% intensity for all 120 minutes and even got his spot kick. his selection was well and truly justified this morning. i was shattered england lost but in saying that i'm rooting for portugal to win.

Well if he doesn't he is surely finished Aaron Lenon just played the game of his life and should be Becks rightful successor.

lol beckham as a defensive midfielder lol, I'd like to see that, also they wouldn't leave out sergio ramos after the 20 mil they spent on him. Personally I reckon that team is capable of scoring 3 goals but capable of conceeding 6

Why was Rooney red carded?

For pushing Ronaldo or for the stomping? The referee takes no action until Rooney pushes Ronaldo and only then does he take action. He never saw the stomping. Therefore, I think it's for pushing Ronaldo and that's just plain BS.

Have a look for yourself and you decide. [LINK]

Notice Ronaldo's wink to ther sidelines? Wanker!

Perhaps, but then do you think Ronaldo will develop as a player? I don't, he hasn't got the same charcter as Ronaldinho who plays the game for the fun of it and the sheer joy he gets. C.Ronaldo is a smug little sh*t who loves himself more than he loves the game.

Ferguson and Scolari are probably 2 of the toughest, most disciplinarian coaches in world football, if they can't get him to adjust his game then no-one will. And it certainly won't happen at Real Madrid, they are the perfect examle of what happens when you let footballers run things for themselves, it's a disaster. Sure the whole galacticos thing sounds great and sells replica shirts but it won't win jack sh*t. You need someone to lead the thing not let the lunatics run the show.

Why do people read so much into the wink? How do you know that at training during the week they hadn't joked that Rooney would be sent off or something completely innocent?

How do we know what Ronaldo said to the ref? And if the ref decided only to send Rooney off after Ronaldo's "talk" then that is the ref's complete fault.

Ronaldo is being made a scapegoat here. Nobody can defend against Rooney's actions and he should be the one being slated...

Who said Beckham was playing DM... that formation only shows C.Ronaldo and Robinho in advanced midfield positions.

Re: S.Ramos- he's been playing DM for Madrid in the second half of the season so I wouldn't mind seeing him there. One thing's for sure, having Salgado, Ramos and Cicinho able to play RB is incredible depth.

Casillas

Cicinho/Salgado-Woodgate-Helguera-R.Carlos

S.Ramos

Beckham---------------C.Ronaldo

Raul (c)

Ronaldo-Robinho

List of all rumoured transfer targets: Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United),Joaquin (Real Betis), Jose Antonio Reyes, Cesc Fabregas (both Arsenal), Mahamadou Diarra (Olympique Lyon), Kaka (AC Milan), Arjen Robben (Chelsea), Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Gianluca Zambrotta, Emerson (all Juventus), Andres Iniesta (Barcelona).

Rumoured managers: Capello, del Bosque, Wenger.

Regardless of what you might think, Real Madrid will be back next year and will be seriously challenging for the La Liga and Champions League again. Just where they belong.

Rubbish. Another year signing attacking players who aren't needed. Buy some midfielders, or defenders. Better still, produce your own.

Real Madrid will win nothing next season. P.S Cassano is 50 times the player Raul is, yet the latter will still start. Sponsors demands, just like Beckham.

Roanldo is a great player, and he's got a killer instinct as he showed against england, he put national team before club team and that shows me that nothing gets in the way of victory for him, plus when he stepped up for the penalty, you knew he wasn't going to miss. The bloke is potentially yhr best player we've seen in a while and definately the cloeset thing United have ever had to another George Best, George said so himself. Look at his game, his dribbling speaks for itself, he's good in the air and has a powerful shot, if he cuts back on the joga bonito abit, like ronaldinho did, he could be anything.

He is nothing like George Best. Off the pitch Best was a wino, womaniser and all the rest of it. On it he was a joy to watch, he played the game because he loved the game.

There was no malice in him whatsoever. He would never have tried to wind up a teammate before kick off (like Ronaldo did with a word and a headbutt), or rushed in screaming for a booking (like Ronaldo did several times, even running the length of the pitch to have a go at Crouch) or looked knowingly to his bench suggesting "mission accomplished".

They just don't compare.

yeah but the game is different now compared to when george played, there were no Pipo Inzaghi's and Arjen Robben's around back then.
George's attributes make in comparable to ronaldo, both play wing, both are 2 footed, awesome dribblers and good in the air, find me a united player whos more similar to george than ronaldo
