Who is John DOYLE.

The NSWRL website lists him as playing for the Roosters next season and as ( Back from retirement ).

Who did he play with prior to retirement. I have never heard of him.

How old is he, and what position does/did he play ???

John Doyle used to play at North Queensland. He represented Qld as a hooker in Origin but he is a bit of a utlity player. He'd be about 27 or 28.

You are obviously a true fan...

Doyle had a great Origin series in 2001.

Yeah I am more than a true fan actually, however a " Newtown " fan and as such don't usually give a flyin one about the NRL competition. Dont watch it, and dont follow it much since Newtown were booted in 1983.

Thats why I asked about DOYLE. However I have not missed more than half a dozen jets games since year 2000, including trips to Canberra, Newcastle, and Gosford etc, so I would say that effort makes me a true fan. In fact a truer fan than most NRL followers who sit in front of the tele and watch away games.

I think drivin three hours to Canberra to watch the Jets play, then leaving ( as usual ) prior to the NRL kickoff and driving three hours back home, win lose or draw would make me a true fan. What do ya reckon mate !!!! LOL....................

Thanks for the info anyway boys. He sounds pretty good !!!!!

In other news, the Roosters have completed the signing of former Queensland hooker John Doyle on a one-year deal.

"He has been in Mt Isa in retirement for the last two years because of knee trouble," said Roosters chief executive Brian Canavan.

"He has overcome those now and was looking for an opportunity. We were looking for someone to cover the hooker, back-row positions with Stuart Webb off to Souths. He has also played a bit of five-eighth."

Played Origin in 2001 I think.
