This is for everyone that hates the bulldogs

Did you hate them before the salary cap scandal/coffs harbour incident? If so why?

As a dogs fan i can completely understand why opposition fans hate the dogs (i.e bringing game into disrepute etc etc), i was just wondering if these are the main reasons why

I think there'll always be rivalry between Eels and Dogs because of the 80s dominance of both teams, and sharing a home ground for half of that decade. But that's a good healthy rivalry, and not "hate" as such.

Salary cap stuff made me hate the administration and its dealings, but all of those directors have moved on (I hope). And the way the club/coach/admin handled the coffs allegations probably could have been a lot better in hindsight, and for me is what remains controversial/hateable even when the allegations did not end up proceeding further?

Just being honest in my answer, no offence to anyone meant.

No way bartman that is awesome, great response. Of course as a dogs fan there is always going to be rivalry between the eels and the dogs so thats no surprise. I guess i wanted 2 see how much these incidents have really hurt the club regarding other supporters

just remember my old man walking around in a dogs jersy and me deciding i would hate them with all my heart
we absolutely give it to each other, he stop defending them for a breif period, between salary cap and coffs, but now he is in full swing

cant wait till they get knocked out, all ive herd this week is "where are canberra"

My dad hates them because of Terry Lambs tackle on Ellery Hanley in the grandfinal.

Yeh that's why I hate the dogs girvie. My hate has mellowed somewhat since the rise of the Rooster's dynasty. At least the Dog's produce local talent like Sherwin.

Lol, just near Belmore Oval they've got a terry Lamb commemorative plaque on a wood stump. When I was there I wrote on it 'Baa is a thug! Remember the 1988 Grand Final? I'm sure Ellery Hanley doesn't!'. I can't say I hate the Bulldogs as much as I hate Manly, Easts and the Broncos, but I do think the way the club has conducted itself over the past 20 years has been nothing short of shameful. From illegal shoulder pads and thuggery in Grand Finals to making SuperLeague a reality and cheating the salary cap, I feel sorry for all the elderlt Canterbury fans who would've supported a completely different club 35 years ago. If Newcastle ever became what the Dogs have, I don't know if I'd still have the heart for them.

I don't hate the dogs... besides which "hate" in RL is a warped way of saying "respect". IMO.

Looking forward to playing them again in the GF. :alcho:

I can understand that people have a problem with The Dogs after everything that has happened over the last few years.

What people do need to realise though is that the current administration is working around the clock to repair the damage. I am confident it can be acheived and the club can again be the proud club it was through the 80's.

It is a long road back for us but I have faith in Malcolm Noad and the rest of the club, the action plans they have should have a big impact on not only improving the image of the club, but helping the game of Rugby League as well.

I don't hate the Dogs, I dislike them.

The last couple of Dogs matches I went to I felt uncomfortable due to the behaviour of sections of their supporters, so I don't go to Dogs matches any more.

But depsite any of this, I'll be "looking on with interest" hoping Willie Tonga and Andrew Ryan have good games in the GF, and that Walker, Hodges, Crocker, Ricko cop the stick they usually give out.

Personally I don't hate the Bulldogs, I just love to see them lose, which drives me into baracking the other teams Most Weeks, which is suppose in turn you could say I hate them, but consider this.

Since the age of 4 I have been a Manly fan, ie. going into 1995. Now all my familey support the Bullogs, and 90% of my friends do to. This causes a massive want for Bulldogs to lose, so I don't have to hear about how great they are, at home and at school. Now in 1995, my first year of supporting Manly, we lost the Grand Final to them, a game which I still hear about in our house because our Family are all Fanatical Bulldogs Fans (no, not the Billdogs army). I just love to see them lose, and I go to so many of their games with my sister, it's just brilliant to see my sister angry about it. For me the whole SAlary Cap Scandal, Willie Mason and drugs, Rape Scandal and others, are just things I can bag the shit out of my Friends and Family for.

So yes you could say it is more of a rilvalry for me, not hatred, and therefore I will be supporting the Doggies this week, as I litturally do hate those f**king cocks!

I think it might be tall poppy syndrome.

I could also bring up the racism issue in respect to a lot of their fan base, but I won't.
