Questions that need to be answered.

I've bcome a little disenchanted at the goings on at the football office over the past a few weeks and would love the following questions answered.

1] As Colonel said! Fitzy is playing hard ball with the Lyon. by why have they come to the decision NOW!! to wave a carrot under the noses of a some clubs?

2] What is happening to Dykes??? why hasn't he been released already??

3] Why hasn't a media release come to surface about the Morrison signing?

4] are we really negotiating with a player still under contract with another club??

5] How will we compensate with the loss of Vaeliki in the area I believe we struggling greatly in, the threequarters??

6] how did the Armit rumours come to surface without the player himself knowing about it??

could someone please shead some light??

I think you are asking the questions to the wrong people. You should send an email to Brian Smith or ring up the football club and ask them. I dont think anyone here can answer your questions (which are bloody good ones), As nobody here has any inside info at all.

Just ring up the footy club and ask how you can email brian smith, I did it before and I got an answer from him, but I have forgotten the email address. But try not to be rude (it will be hard to control yourself I know) as they may not forward it to him if you are.

Most clubs have made their decisions on recruitment and would not have budgeted for an Australian rep player coming off contract at this late in the game. Lyon allegedly wants to come back to the NRL and Fitzy is showing him that no one in the "rural" areas can afford him and force him back into the blue and gold.

2] What is happening to Dykes??? why hasn't he been released already??

No idea at all - again are we waiting on another signing? It appears likely if the deal has been all but done.

Eels Office can be slow. Most media outlets have already released the information.

4] are we really negotiating with a player still under contract with another club??

Thats my mail but I don't know how true it is.

5] How will we compensate with the loss of Vaeliki in the area I believe we struggling greatly in, the threequarters??

O'Dwyer, Smith, Graham and Tahu have claims - as to who gets the job the off-season may play a big part. If Lyon comes back it will be interesting though I would prefer to see Lyon and Tahu paired together in a centre wing combination.

6] How did the Armit rumours come to surface without the player himself knowing about it??

There are plenty of negotiations going on behind closed doors however Chris may have been linked when his brother was.

I was starting to think that mmaybe he would be sticking around, but in this weeks Parramatta Advertiser, I'm pretty sure I saw a quote from fitz saying the deal is pretty much done.

Also, fitzy was quoted as saying there would be a review of the coaching at the end of the year, which would involve talkiing to the players without the coach around, something he said happens every year.

What was most interesting though was the qoute was Ovo on Smiths future. He basically referred the matter to fitzgerald. Usually, he leaps at a chance to back smith.

Its a newsltd paper, delivered free to homes once a week and flogged for about 80cents in newspapers.

Unfortunatley, news dont do an online version of its local news papers.

Believe it or not the club still has the best interests of Jamie at heart. It is my understanding that they genuinely believe that Jamie wants to go to Manly due to his ties with Crusher- but he's told the Eels he misses Country life- hence the Eels giving him the option of more rural clubs. He won't take them...he wants to play for Manly.


2] What is happening to Dykes??? why hasn't he been released already?? Dykes has definately left for Cronulla- the deal has been done just waiting for the official announcement. Expect it possibly as early as today. Bit of a shame in my opinion.


5] How will we compensate with the loss of Vaeliki in the area I believe we struggling greatly in, the threequarters?? Good batch of juniors + Tahu...we should be ok in the centres I think. I don't think the club has completely ruled out Lyon returning on a reduced contract either.

They're the only answers I can get from my Tomato sauce- the players don't even know half of what's going on.
