I love the way R*y is promoting himself as "speaking for the silent majority of Parra fans".

Sorry R*y....we might all fight pro and anti Smithy here....but there is ONE thing above ALL ELSE that we agree on.

*edited*

Go to the world and tell them waht your so called masses really think!

He may be speaking for the masses, but he isn't speaking with the masses. If Hadley wants to relate to us fans then he should be going about this matter differently.

I think Hadley is a tool, and only listened to the interview because El Duque posted a notice about it.......but didn't he ask most of the questions that have been asked on this board??

At the same time, I detected a crack in the relationship of Fitz and Smith.

i.e.
1. Smith basically has ALL the control over buying and selling, after being told his budget. Fitz wanted to take NO responsibility for players bought and sold.
2. Fitz very surprised at the sacking of Morris, and said that he wouldn't have done the same, but put that down to the fact he is not a coach.

Clearly, two areas where Smith doesn't have Denis's support.
I wonder how many more there are, or how long it will take at the current rate before he doesn't have any??

Well I hope Fitzgerald has told Smith that he isn't completely happy. It puts some pressure on Smith that the players have to perform or changes will be made.

Well maybe he has.

The changes have been made........there could have been one other, but that being said, the changes have been made.

Sorry I didn't mean like team changes I meant changes to other things. Such as recruitment and player retention, his coaching methods, his treatment of various players, etc.

No worries Dudey. Those things may change for the better when the coach changes for the better.

I am still a firm believer that the coach should have sole charge in who is recriuted and who goes for a number of reasons.

1. He is the one who has to work with them not CEO's etc.
2. The coach gets a 'feel' for what the team needs better than others who are not as closely involved
3. Most importantly, it stops any confusion as to who his to blame when things go wrong and stops the bandwagon jumpers when things are going well.

You only have to look at the examples of Chelsea (soccer) and Washington (NFL) where over-zealous owners have undermined the coach, who has still gotten the blame for poor performances.

I also think the coach is the best positioned person to be the judge of such things.
However, it seems that our current coach has, sadly, become a poor decision maker.......among other things.

From what Fiztgerald was saying though, Smith doesn't only have power of who stays and who goes he also has power of who is paid what. Basically Smith is told "here's 2 million bucks to retain and buy players, spend it how you like". So if Smith really really wants Adam Dykes, he can offer him 450K without objection by Fitzy. This is too much power. It's one thing to be a coach, but Smith isn't an accountant as well.

My post gets edited...yeah right.

I used 3 terms to refer to R*y - every single one of them has been used over-and-ocer-and-over by R*y and his buddies either talking or in their stupid songs in reference to others.

So why the hell can't I throw them back at him?

Whoever edited it - please give me an explanation

I have an explanation - thank you.

I personally don't believe I went any further than what the 2GB team give to anyone else hidden in the pretext of a song.

But I would not like to see this forum in any trouble, so I will apologise.

I agree that there is something in that letter being hidden by Fitzy.....but R*y has not seen the letter and everyone denies everything over and over.....R*y is a _____

Ray did actually make sense with a comment today, I was very surprised. He said,

"Brian, you're a very good coach, but you've just run out of ideas at Parramatta"

I thought I should comment the fact he made a critical statment of someone without being abusive.

The thing that sh!ts me about Roy Hardley is that he is a massive hypocrite. He'll go on all day and night about how bad Brian Smith is and how he should resign but he won't have a single bad word to say about his best mate Dennis Fitzgerald. The bloke that gave Brian Smith a 5 YEAR CONTRACT WORTH ALMOST 2 MILLION DOLLARS is blameless is he Roy? The same bloke that thinks the club is doing fine and that we aren't in any sort of crisis #-o

I wonder if Brian Smith was infact Hardley's best mate would he be given any different treatment?

I'm not defending Brian either by the way. I think it's time he gave it up but I just hate the way Hardley carries on his high horse like a hypocrite sometimes.
