I feel confident so we'll lose.

But with Beau back and our players looking great in City vs Country, it should be an improved performance.

I look at our pack compared to their pack and think we'll win easily.
I look at their halves compared to our halves and think they'll win easily.
I think we've got them in the outside backs too.
Then I realise we're playing at Brookvale. Them by 40.

Pack is fine. Rochow for Scott next year, I think long term this is the setup. Randall on the bench is a good spot for utility value.

Hopefully Houston and Faalogo are on Gidley's flight, even sooner would be better. Another quality bench prop would be nice.

Roberts has to go play reserves for at least a month, although Gidley would play 7 which is a terrible alternative.

Rochow is a good solid player but he's not close to Beau Scott calibre, to suggest our pack will be fine next year is very naive

hybrid props, like houston imo. korbin will end up at lock i think.

suggestion? buy some larger bodied players or give vai vai more game time

Agree that Korbin will be our long term lock but Stockwell will be a good club front rower in 1-2 seasons. It still leaves us 1 quality prop short though

Easier said than done Slotmachine. We could offer a veteran like Shillington a spot but you won't get him cheap and that is the problem. He will demand rep dollars based on form from five years ago. It is almost like a uni degree. On paper it makes you look qualified but in reality it isn't worth a damn thing if your skills suck in a practical environment. Vai Vai is worth the time and effort but he still has yet to show he is NRL ready. Korbin certainly is backrow material. Could even see Rochow pushed up next year and Korbin and Tariq playing backrow together.

If they go ahead with the interchange change next year our front row situation will look different.

True, but being a big guy doesn't mean you can't play long minutes. Snowden is good for 60 minutes a game. Jesse Bromwich plays close to 70 minutes a game, etc.

Rochow is another one of those hybrid guys. They can play in the middle in a pinch but aren't going to do much damage there. Stockwell seems to have that lanky Houston-like frame. Not sure how much more size he can put on but he averages 8 or 9 metres per run which is OK, so he must be doing something right.

Did I say Rochow was Scott calibre? Rochow and Scott has been our starting second row under normal circumstances. And then we have Tariq now, plus the kids coming through. Back row is looking strong by comparison with other positions, even considering the loss of Beau.

having one genuine front rower in the place is fine obviously

Okay, I may have given mixed signals here. Starting Pack is the best possible for what is available atm. Of course we are short on props. Which is why I want another quality prop bought for next year. Sorry I was so cryptic, there. I would have flicked Snowden up until this season as well, but he finally looks like he is having a go. I like Korbin but not sure if he belongs up front.

Gidley and Scott free up plenty under the cap. I want them to spend it in the engine room, and a halfback, not on more outside backs who will mostly play second grade, but let's see how they go in the marketplace.

You would have flicked snowden? He has been our best forward since he got here and cops a lot of shit for no reason. Apart from being a slow starter in previous seasons he has been great.

To me our pack is 3 players short of where it needs to be, I think we can all agree right now even at full strength our pack is probably middle of the road at best, we probably need 2 extra guys just to lift the pack to above average, if you factor in losing our best forward as well, we're definitely in some strife if we don't sign anyone
