At least mamo pulled his weight 63 tackles today
45 missed tackles,we fell off too many
Mamo has been terrific to start the year and a breath of fresh air. He'll only get better.

As for the overall missed tackles - it was clear that the Sharks, from our first set, were playing faster and pushing harder so that we were unable to get any line speed whereas they had heaps.

I might sound like I'm whinging here but I have always disliked it when some sides get away with pushing the rucks after the tackle has been called held. The Sharks pushed us back well after the held call and the ref just lets it go. Campbell got dragged 10 metres after a clear call of held was heard. Nothing. They kept doing it. Then, when they have the ball and get tackled, they get up walking forward as they play it well in front of the mark and .... crickets. So, our defence is constantly back pedalling, they get momentum in their sets so we can't get any chance to have line speed and we're playing uphill while they're playing downhill.

Good luck to them I guess and if they can do it, then, like it or not, we need to do it too. Anyhow, they overpowered us at the rucks with and without the ball in the 1st half before they got gassed in the 2nd half in the heat which gave us a chance to actually put some real attack on well after the horse had bolted.

Our kick chase defence never put pressure on there back 3 the chase was like mob of sheep all over the place
Well, when you're losing the field position arm wrestle and kicking from much further back, your chase is never going to be able to get down there in time. Still, it's something that can improve with more time and repetitions.

It will help when AJ is back and Rava has played more games in this team.

I agree with what you are saying They scored two or three long range tries today through slack kick chase defence usually the kick chase is a sign your side is up for the game it was never evident even early In the game .

I hope the club pays jyes fine,it wasnt a classic hop drop,he tackled him from behind and landed on his legs,he shouldnt have copped anything, its a farce.
On another note, we definately need 2 big props, even cheese will not make a difference if there is no go forward, which has been evident our last 3 games, our defence, whilst better than last year, needs to move up faster, and this dropping off tackles is laughable

In terms of improvement and development, comparing this season to last and previous ones, Keppie is getting better, but how much remains to be seen; Moale has been a major disappointment, virtually no improvement since 3 seasons ago; Duncan hasn't really come on either, except for his footwork being slightly better than the rest, and Tatola looks washed.

When all hands are back on deck, might need to move Arrow to prop, he can certainly play there, but it's not ideal because he is undersized for that position.

Yeah, we definitely need 2 big props

Arrow has dropped weight, and seems ineffective in attack, moale i think needs more bulk losing too much weight seems to be having an adverse effect
