Also we talk about signing more props but then who goes to NSW Cup? Assuming we are going to have a prop rotation of 4 with Sam Burgess, tom Burgess, musgrove and George. Who gets dropped? If you drop George and sign someone else then you are essentially wasting 500k out of the salary cap. Musgrove had a good season and besides the inconsistency is only young and has a bright future. He is playing for Samoa in the World Cup too which will help him immensely. Sam and tom are definitely in the top 17. We shouldn't be signing props on big $$$ if there's no room for them in the squad.

This kind of sense doesn't belong in the silly season!

Nicholls isn't an inspiring signing but he isn't necessarily meant to be. He's a member of our 30 man squad and will be on minimal money. Is a mature body, has first grade experience and is an upgrade on DT whose body had let him down unfortunately.

Definitely can't argue with the reference to DT.

I don't know enough about Nicholls to comment. It's not the type of signing to get me excited, but of course, they can't all be superstars. Every team needs some blokes on smaller contracts that can just do a job for you.

It's a worry when Bellamy has had a look at a bloke and let him go though. He is renowned for extracting every last drop of goodness from exactly this type of player.

Dont show your ignorance please!! And im sorry to say it that way too.
All teams should have at least minimum a 5prop rotation.
This is for a couple of reasons
1 to cover injury
2 to cover bad form ...remind you of any1?
3 to pressure the 1s in first grade
For the last 2 seasons at least our props have been underperforming and we have resorted to using second rowers and it hasnt worked
Clark
turner
Rochow
Etc
Its a specialised position we need at least 2
Tyrell is gone and this year was a washout so please no platform no win

In 2014 we used 4 specialist props for the whole year: George, Tom and Luke B and Tyrrel. With Murray emerging as our long term lock we already have a 4 prop rotation of Sam, Tom and George B and Musgrove. I agree we need a 5th prop but he doesn't need to be any better than a 2014 Luke Burgess.

Although it doesnt seem like it sometimes, we have to remember that the storm do in fact have a salary cap, they too can't keep everyone, they are just as likely to get every last drop out of their new signing Kasiano & let this bloke go, perhaps he is too light for Bellamys liking, who knows, but the fact he was in the first grade squad this year suggests he has some worth, you'll note we also have coaching staff that have worked with him & know what he's like & how he plays, we wouldn't have signed him if we weren't happy with what we were getting

Ahh you don't have a five prop rotation when Farah is on the bench lol. You're showing your ignorance. Unless you're talking about dropping Farah to NSW Cup and then you're talking about 1 mil of the salary cap being in NSW cup. That would be even more ridiculous mr handyman.

I dont wanna get in the middle of your argument, but Farah isn't on a million, and personally I would have him in NSW Cup. Bringing him is was a mistake, no need to compound it by making our team worse for next season. His contract is a sunk cost that will only be there for 1 year.

Yeah I wasn't referring to Farah being on a million I was referring to dropping gurgess(500k) and Farah(500k) would equate to 1 mil of our salary cap going to NSW Cup.

Well yeah, that's true. I wouldn't drop George unless someone pushes him out. Again, he might just be a sunk cost. By the time his contract is up, Musgrove will hopefully be getting near SoO selection and we can upgrade him.

It's just a response to everybody demanding we sign big money props. The only one worth chasing was James graham and now that he's not available there's no one else worth it on the open market. It makes no sense to spend big money when we already have the props that can do the job. You can't sign anyone else until you offload one of the twins which is never gonna happen. The young props are quality. Especially Johnstone he is a machine.

I didnt say that the 2 props required had to be 700k agrade just backups like this fellow nichols we signed today better than tyrell

By a 5 or 6 prop rotation i dont mean they all are in the first grade team idealy 2 start 2 are on the bench and another couple are at the bears ...even they were useing second rowers at prop, just that you need to have backups...i shouldnt have to state the obvious clark turner rocho and tyrel etc were used this year even britt was at prop its a weakness we have.
